Emma Wells understood now that what she'd just said had been overheard by Lucy.
She had to admit, she thought Kai Bright's suggestion was really quite good, and she was very happy about it, but she also couldn't let the in-laws think they were trying to cling to them.
That wouldn't be good for Lucy and would make it easy for the in-laws to look down on her.
"Lucy, about this matter…"
"Mom, this matter, you elders can talk it over among yourselves later. I still need to get all dolled up and pretty for tomorrow, I'm going to bed." After Lucy Wells finished speaking, she turned and ran back to her room, leaving Emma Wells completely stunned.
After a long moment, she finally came back to herself and said to Old Mrs. Wells, "Tell me, what's gotten into this child, how did she turn into this now?"
"And how is this not good?" Old Mrs. Wells did not agree with Emma Wells's view. "Lucy is great like this! She won't let people push her around!"
