Kellan Blake thought of the investigation he'd done on Kai Bright back then and nodded in sudden understanding.
Right, Kai also liked to go race with those buddies of his every now and then. He'd probably honed his skills like that.
Kellan pushed himself to keep up, but while they were still in the city, he still ended up a certain distance behind Kai.
Finally, once they were out of the city and there were hardly any cars on the road, Kellan figured he could finally catch up to Kai.
But then he realized he was wrong.
Only when the traffic thinned out did Kellan really witness Kai's speed.
He had the gas pedal floored and could only barely see the taillights of Kai's car.
When they reached the spot, Kai saw the car parked there, pushed open his door and jumped out. "What's the situation?"
"To the right," Charles Seymour said, tossing a walkie-talkie to Kai at the same time.
