Charles Seymour gave Jim Perry a rather puzzled look and asked a question that almost made Jim choke: "If it's not ruthless, why would I even bother making a move?"
Jim: "..."
The boss sounded so damn reasonable that Jim was actually left speechless.
"Boss, didn't you say you were leaving everything to the missus to handle, that you wouldn't interfere?" Jim remembered his boss's stance crystal clear.
Especially that smug expression back then—no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't forget it.
"Did I interfere?" Charles looked at Jim with even more confusion. "Isn't this just a normal company investment?"
"Do you think the two companies I invested in are incompetent, or that medical consumables have no future?"
Listening to Charles's words, Jim genuinely wanted to refute him but couldn't find a single angle, and could only nod and admit, "Of course, this is a great investment."
It's just… why did his chest feel so stuffy the moment he admitted it?
