Mu Ke returned to the apartment while Jiayu was taking a shower, the sound of water splashing in the bathroom. Mu Ke glanced at the door for a moment, then turned around, washed his hands in the kitchen, and opened the fridge to start preparing lunch ingredients.
Jiayu emerged from the bathroom wearing a plush coral fleece loungewear, a towel draped over her shoulder, with her long hair damp and loose.
Hearing the noise in the kitchen, Jiayu walked straight out, without even wearing shoes.
Mu Ke's tall silhouette stood busy at the stove, with the afternoon sun streaming in through the window, more intense, especially from the side window, lighting him up with a beam of gold, making him look even taller and lean.
Jiayu pursed her lips, carefully stepped over, and suddenly hugged Mu Ke's slim waist: "Hey, did I scare you?"
The man's hand paused while making a cold salad, slightly tilted his head, his clear brows and eyes showing a hint of indulgence, deeply ingrained.
