The days flowed by like running water.
According to the established plan, the survivors split into two groups each day, with one group busy building the city walls and the other repairing houses.
This was quite a tedious and tiring task, but for the survivors at the base, it was something they enjoyed.
It is no surprise since, in the apocalypse, the one thing people have in abundance is time.
The once bored people no longer had to toil from dawn till dusk for a living, and the dreams of "sleeping until waking naturally, counting money until cramping fingers" had been realized.
But cruelly, now that all is realized, no one feels happy about it.
Thus, the idle people began to miss those exhausting days between the same three points of routine.
This could very well be what they call the fickleness of mankind.
Many things aren't truly appreciated until they are lost and regrettably missed.
As they say, what's unattainable is often deemed the best.
