The car drove all the way out of the mountains. It had taken Beisitian two days and one night to travel this road the first time, finally finding that little mountain village on foot, and now she was just being driven out like this.
The driver didn't say a word the whole way; only the two thugs occasionally exchanged a few sentences. Beisitian paid close attention and realized that if she couldn't sense the ebb and flow of their spirit, she would never have noticed the hierarchy between the three of them.
Maybe because Beisitian had been too quiet after getting in the car, the driver glanced back at her twice through the rearview mirror.
