Jing Changle looked at Gong Chengyan and asked knowingly, "Are you my father?"
Gong Chengyan exchanged a glance with Yun Fei, assuming he asked out of longing for his father.
"Your father, your father disappeared a long time ago," Gong Chengyan contemplated briefly before deciding to reveal the truth.
There's no use in hiding such things; the truth will come out sooner or later.
Jing Changle was slightly startled, "How long?"
"Around eight years," Gong Chengyan approximated the time, as he couldn't recall the exact date.
Upon hearing this, Jing Changle felt somewhat relieved. He was about to turn eight; it seemed his father disappeared after his mother conceived him but before his birth, which meant that his mother's forced departure wasn't related to his father.
Jing Changle hoped that this was the case, as long as his father wasn't a scoundrel, at least his mother wasn't completely despairing.
