"You mean there wasn't a red brick road here before?" Lawrence Winters glanced down at the road beneath her feet.
The guide nodded, "No. I know about this. When they were building the road, I rode my bike here with my friends to check it out. At that time, it was said the bricks weren't new ones bought from the store but rather second-hand ones salvaged from somewhere."
This was about what Lawrence Winters had guessed.
As she walked up the steps, she curiously asked, "And what about the previous white family? How did they live here?"
"Not very well." The guide waved his hand regretfully, "But the family was quite friendly, often baking cakes and sharing them with us kids."
"Oh, then they sold the house and moved away?"
"Yes, apparently they ran into some business problems and needed funds to turn things around, so they sold the house. I heard it was on the market for a long time with no buyers, and it was only after several price cuts that the current family bought it."
