Gong Xuancheng passed through numerous prison doors and arrived at the deepest part of an underground cell.
In the cells of the upper levels, many prisoners were held, but in this level, there was only one cell, and it housed only one person.
The guards of this level rotated in three shifts, guarding 24 hours a day, and they were not ordinary guards, but specially selected ones.
After Gong Xuancheng showed his documents, the two guards cautiously opened the door, repeatedly reminding him of precautions after entering the cell.
Upon entering, Gong Xuancheng saw there was no bed or anything else inside, just a very heavy metal frame, upon which locked in a crucifix pose was a metal statue.
Except for the mouth, there was no gap anywhere else in the metal statue.
There were no prisoners in the cell, evidently locked within the metal statue.
"Bu Changning." Gong Xuancheng called out the prisoner's name.
But after waiting for a moment, no one responded.
