Ye Bai and his team arrived at the Dark Forest in the evening.
The interior of the Dark Forest was dim, with tall and dense trees. Their trunks were thick, branches intertwined, forming overlapping canopies that blocked the sunlight.
Only sporadic beams of light penetrated through the dense leaves, falling to the ground. It was in this scattered light that Ye Bai saw twisted and terrifying shadows on the trees.
The shadows resembled distorted human faces.
Each tree was crooked, even their leaves were black.
The trunks were covered with a thick layer of moss, entwined with coils of vines.
From afar, the vines looked like hideous venomous snakes, further adding to the sinister and obscure atmosphere of the forest.
The air was filled with a damp, rotten smell that was repulsive.
Occasional cries of unknown creatures echoed through the forest, and the howling of gales sweeping through the treetops made one shiver.
