The first night of Su Rumei's prison life was not a pleasant one.
After the court sentenced her, she was confined in a prison in the suburb of Beijing.
This place was even worse than the orphanage where she stayed before Su Changsheng adopted her.
In the orphanage, there was at least a chance for fate to change through adoption, but now, this was a prison where not only did she have to accept reform and labor without pay, but the living conditions were poor as well.
At night, Su Rumei curled up on her hard bed and suddenly felt a chill.
It was already late autumn, and the nights were still very cold. To top it off, a basin of cold water was splashed on her; even a person made of iron would feel unbearably cold.
"What are you doing?" Su Rumei got up and looked at the person holding a basin, smiling at her, and said angrily, "Why did you pour water on my bed?"
"Why did you write approval notes for those heartless people?"
