This really was a double blessing.
That very evening, the three of them plus the little one, Yuanyuan, had a celebratory meal at Gu Lingling's place.
The food was cooked by Zhang Lanfang.
Mo Hongying was miserable; the moment she stepped into the kitchen and smelled the food, she felt like throwing up.
Zhang Lanfang simply wouldn't let the two of them come in and shooed them both to the living room to rest.
Yuanyuan was a well-behaved one too, sitting there playing with her toys without making a fuss.
"If only Old Ge were here." Using water in place of wine, Mo Hongying took a sip and said.
"You." Zhang Lanfang patted her on the shoulder. "We as military wives should've been mentally prepared for this from day one."
"Back when I was pregnant, our Old Wang wasn't around either. When I went into the delivery room, I even signed the consent form myself." Talking about those days, Zhang Lanfang's face was full of sadness.
"He only rushed back after the baby was born."
