In the hospital parking lot.
Sun Zhe hurriedly caught up with Zhu Yan, grabbing her wrist. "Stepmom, are you mad at me?"
Zhu Yan turned back with an infinitely gentle smile. She softly removed his hand and asked, "Do I look like the petty type?"
Sun Zhe scratched his head. "I'm glad you're not angry."
Walking toward a small electric scooter, Zhu Yan suddenly said, "Ah Zhe, I won't be giving you a ride home tonight."
Sun Zhe was stunned. "Why not? How am I supposed to get home?"
Zhu Yan's face was devoid of expression. "I forgot to charge it last night. There's not much power left."
"Oh, alright then. You go on ahead, Stepmom."
Zhu Yan looked back at Sun Zhe and gave him another slight smile.
An involuntary shiver ran down Sun Zhe's spine.
He used to think his stepmom's smile was beautiful and gentle, enough to melt a person's heart. Now, however, he found it terrifying.
Zhu Yan pointed to a Ferrari on the other side of the lot. "You can ask her to take you home."
"Her?"
