Aurelia frowned innocently, "Accusation? That's a serious charge. We weren't whispering during our chat. Can the mayor's daughter really not distinguish between slander and truth?"
"No... it's not like that..." Amelia Sherwood was momentarily at a loss to explain. That wretched Aurelia, when she wasn't careful, had somehow managed to turn the accusation onto her.
She took a deep breath, regaining her composure. "Azura, I didn't mean it that way. Think about it; your status is so high, how can you squeeze onto a sofa with others?"
"Aurelia, stop fooling around, and make room for Anna." She then turned to speak to Aurelia.
Aurelia's lips curled into a mocking smile as she looked at Amelia Sherwood, her eyes slightly bent in an apparent smile, but it made Amelia inexplicably guilty, causing a chill down her spine, reminding her of how her father was schemed against.
