Aurelia took out a plain white car from the garage, plain in appearance only. She lifted Mason Campbell into the car and bent down to ask him, "Auntie might drive a bit fast, are you scared?"
Mason Campbell shook his head vigorously.
Aurelia affectionately ruffled his hair and got into the driver's seat.
With the little bun, she dared not drive too fast.
Thinking it over, Aurelia asked him, "Are you afraid of crowded places?"
Mason Campbell was a very clever child; he immediately caught Aurelia's implied meaning, shaking his head like a rattle.
No fear! Aunt Aurelia could take him anywhere, and he wouldn't be afraid.
Aurelia bent her eyes and smiled, her smile captivating, carrying a trace of mischief and flamboyance, "Then let's go to a crowded place."
Autism often fears crowded places. She initially thought if the little bun was scared of people, they'd go somewhere less crowded.
