What the hell happened here, is this still Old Friend Road?
Lin Li walked silently all the way, his initial joy and anticipation gradually fading away.
When he saw a familiar snack stall, he went up and ordered a serving of chicken fillet, asking heavily and painfully:
"Uncle, do you remember me? Can I ask, what happened to Old Friend Road? Why does everything look like it's been renovated?"
"Oh, you're talking about this, right? Of course, it was just fixed in the past two days. How could it not be new?" The stall owner said to Lin Li with some happiness:
"I heard it's because so many things have happened here lately, the higher-ups have started to pay attention again."
"Streetlights, cameras, they were just installed these past two days. Some are not even fully set up yet."
"Just this morning, the station and the subdistrict office together held a briefing at the community service center, and I went."
"What did they say?" Lin Li pressed on.
