Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Exchanging Abyssal Currency

(O_o)??

Mo Qingchen was full of question marks.

The high school textbooks only mentioned that obtaining Abyssal Currency happens after completing an Abyssal Dungeon and a settlement panel appears at the end.

During the five-minute settlement window, a Beastmaster can convert the loot gained from the dungeon into Abyssal Currency at a certain rate.

It never mentioned that obtaining a treasure chest can trigger the currency exchange feature.

However, getting Abyssal Currency in advance is always better than rushing to exchange during settlement and missing out on good stuff.

[Tip: Your inventory contains a lot of Abyssal Dungeon items. Each item can be exchanged for Abyssal Currency at a certain rate. Please select the items you wish to exchange.]

[Inventory: Big Goblin corpse (flesh and bones), Goblin weapons X137, Purple Berries X15 pounds, Green Tongue Fruit X5 pounds, Red Snake Fruit X10 pounds, Cold Star Grass X2 pieces, Refined Iron Ore X100 pieces...]

[Abyss Pattern] There are quite a few items in the inventory, and the exchange rate for each item differs for Abyssal Currency.

For example, the Big Goblin corpse, its flesh, and bones can be separately exchanged for Abyssal Currency.

The exchange rate for flesh is 5:1, with 5 pounds of flesh exchanged for 1 Abyssal Currency.

This two-meter-tall Big Goblin corpse has about 55 pounds of flesh, which can be exchanged for 11 Abyssal Currency.

The exchange rate for Big Goblin bones is 2:1, with 2 pounds of bone exchanged for 1 Abyssal Currency.

This Big Goblin's bones weigh about 22 pounds and can also be exchanged for 11 Abyssal Currency.

The most valuable dungeon loot collected by Mo Qingchen is [Cold Star Grass] and [Refined Iron Ore]

The former has an exchange rate of 1:5, with 1 piece of Cold Star Grass exchanged for 5 Abyssal Currency.

The latter has an exchange rate of 1:1, with 1 piece of Refined Iron Ore exchanged for 1 Abyssal Currency.

After quickly scanning the exchange rates for each item, Mo Qingchen immediately exchanged all the Big Goblin flesh and Goblin weapons.

He kept the three fruits, herbs, ores, and Big Goblin bones.

This round of exchange resulted in a total of 148 Abyssal Currency.

Seeing the Abyssal Currency column no longer showing a big fat zero in [Abyss Pattern], Mo Qingchen's mood improved.

[Tip: Abyssal Currency exchange ended, opened white treasure chest, received item (Fine Steel Gloves) X1]

[Fine Steel Gloves (White): Increases attack force by 10% and protects the fists. Additional Attribute: Power +1 point; Durability 15/15, each glove weighs 100 pounds. (PS: White Board, better than nothing, taking it out of the Abyss Dungeon costs 10 Abyssal Currency!)]

White board equipment, just as the saying goes, better than nothing.

These gloves weigh a total of 200 pounds, and although 1 power point translates to a hundred-pound force, this doesn't mean you can wear this thing and move freely!

"For an ordinary Beastmaster to wield these easily, they'd probably need to boost their power to at least 5 points."

Mo Qingchen picked up the gloves and promptly put them on, like a layer of steel scales attached to his hands.

After moving his fingers slightly and throwing a punch, it was fairly smooth.

With his basic attributes, wearing hundred-pound gloves was a breeze.

"Jinjin, let's continue. In the latter half of the dungeon, the monster density is higher, and Tier Two Big Goblins will also be plentiful. You need to move up to Tier Two quickly."

After thoroughly looting the Goblin camp, the duo continued on their way, proceeding cautiously and packing any discovered resources into the [Abyss Pattern] inventory.

The monster density indeed increased considerably along the way.

The Goblin squads still numbered between 5 and 9, but their appearance frequency was higher. Sometimes, a second squad appeared before the first was fully cleared by the duo.

Luckily, squads with Big Goblins were still relatively rare; most were just Tier One Goblin squads, which were not too difficult to kill.

At one point, when only one was left, Mo Qingchen personally tested the power of the [Fine Steel Gloves].

Tier Zero Beastmaster VS Tier One Goblin.

Normally, an ordinary Beastmaster would be beaten to death by a Goblin in a one-on-one fight.

But for Mo Qingchen, the situation was reversed.

A normal Beastmaster who hasn't entered a Tier has a maximum of 10 points in any of the four basic attributes.

But thanks to his talent, his Power began at 10 points, and Spirit even surpassed 20 points from the start.

Now, with the blessing from the Guardian Beast and gear boosts, his Power is 19 and Agility 12, not lagging much behind a Tier One Goblin.

Especially since he can use his Spiritual Power in battle to track enemy movements; as long as he keeps up with the speed, it's hard for Goblins to strike him.

Moreover, when the [Fine Steel Gloves] punch, spikes appear, leaving the Goblin's skin ripped open with each hit.

A Level 16 Goblin was hammered by Mo Qingchen until it was bloodied and hardly recognizable.

"After a battle of punches, it surprisingly consumed most of my stamina. It seems, unless necessary, a Beastmaster shouldn't personally engage in a fight."

With a Constitution now at only 6 points, it's a considerable shortcoming.

Fortunately, the more Goblins he defeated, especially with Mo Jin using the fierce poison attribute and Poison Needle skill to poison several Big Goblins, the gained experience points leveled it up to Level 19.

However, advancing from Level 19 to Level 20 requires the total experience of the entire Tier One.

This level-up doesn't come easy.

The duo, after amassing a wealth of various resource items, finally reached the final boss area of [Goblin Forest].

[Exotic Beast Name: Big Goblin]

[Talent: C (Excellent)]

[Attribute: Evil Type]

[Level: LV29]

[Talent: Brutality]

[Skills: Frenzy, Bloodthirst, Heavy Strike, Double Hammer Strike]

It's still a Big Goblin, but this one not only has a C-level talent, but its level has also reached the peak of Tier Two, and its body is extremely robust and hefty.

Very clearly, this final boss is a powerhouse; if it lands a strike, you'd be severely injured if not dead.

"Jinjin, same plan as before. Use your speed advantage to clear out the Goblins around first, then dance around the big guy and apply poison stack with the [Poison Needle] skill to wear it down."

Whenever encountering Goblin squads with Big Goblins before, the duo used guerilla tactics to gradually chip away at the enemy, eventually poisoning the Big Goblin to death by poison damage.

When necessary, avoid confronting the Big Goblin head-on, focusing on being cautious and absolutely avoiding injury.

This strategy provides safety assurance, but it also means not being able to gauge just how strong the Big Goblin's Strength Attribute is or the extent of its direct damage.

You can't blame Mo Qingchen for being so cautious. With only one life, and soon being forcibly drafted by the Abyss to partake in the Newcomer Trial Dungeon.

If Mo Jin gets injured or something goes wrong, the trial dungeon is doomed.
