"Xu Lin, how can you say it's just good luck?"
Great-grandfather chuckled despite himself.
Xu Lin smiled slightly and then shifted the topic: "Great-grandfather, I'm having children."
"Danqing, or who?"
Great-grandfather knew Xu Lin had several women, which didn't seem wrong to him; he'd had multiple wives and several confidantes in his life. Women were just one insignificant part of it.
"Yes, Danqing, and another one, named Chi Linyue, the granddaughter of the Chi family. Both are pregnant with twins."
"Twins, hahaha, that's great!"
Great-grandfather laughed heartily, saying, "I hope to live a few more days to see your children growing up."
"You will."
"Hahaha, hopefully. I'm really old now. Sometimes I fear death. Knowing that at over a hundred years old, it's not fitting for me. I've lived too long, and I still yearn for the world—it shouldn't be so for me."
Great-grandfather gently patted Xu Lin's shoulder.
