Shawn only had one chance to make a move.
Whether he decided to strike first against the wizard lurking at the edge of the swamp or to kill the two hunters examining the corpse, he would immediately expose his own presence. Both enemies had the capability to kill Shawn instantly. After all, he was on the Wizard Path and didn't have the reinforced flesh and formidable resilience of a warrior.
Even if Rangers couldn't obtain firearms in the Bizarre Realm, their use of bows and arrows was incredibly dangerous.
Time did not allow Shawn much room for thought.
Once the two Lizardman hunters finished investigating the corpse, they might very well discover Shawn's presence, as the Ranger Path inherently granted tracking abilities.
