Chapter 6 - Chapter 65- A Tranquil Silence

Even though Xai Lin was annoyed by those cultivator's words, they were right about one thing when they said that almost all the Inns were fully booked.

It took the three of them going to four different Inns before finding one that had rooms, and this one was down to the last two.

Xai Lin decisively booked the two rooms, to the two male and female cultivators behind her dismay.

Without even so much as a glance back, Xai Lin held onto An Mo's hand and followed the slightly younger man, who seems to be the Inn keeper's younger brother, up the stairs to their room.

"Young Miss, and the two Young Masters, our Inn also has partnership with the restaurant and tea house next door, so our guests can receive three meals a day, and a thirty percent discount for at least ten friends they invite there. We are also partners with the bathhouse across the street from us, where each of our guests have priority for booking a private room, with a fifty percent discount on the public baths for up to twenty friends they invite."

While dishing out an advertisement that was disguised as an explanation of their accommodations, the young man handed over six small wooden plaque. Two had the numbers of the two rooms on it, while the other four were two pairs with similar designs, with the names Starlight Bathhouse, and Lone Moon Tea House & Restaurant on them.

The young man then turn and left after handing over those wooden plaques.

Xai Lin, who had taken them, hand over one of the room "keys" to Su Jin, as well as one of the Starlight Bathhouse and Lone Moon Tea House & Restaurant plaque.

"If you want to visit the tea house or bathhouse you can go ahead. An Mo and I will stay in the room for a while."

After taking the plaques, Su Jin glanced at An Mo, who seemed to have already recovered, before turning back to nod at Xai Lin.

"Alright, Senior Sister Xai Lin."

Su Jin then turned to enter his own room, but was stopped by Xai Lin, who seemed to have recalled something.

"Wait, I almost forgot to give this to you."

Xai Lin flipped over her hand and a simple storage bag appeared on her palm, which she gave to Su Jin.

"There are some treasures in there that can protect you if you run into trouble, as well as a bit of pocket money for you to spend during our time here."

Taking the storage bag, Su Jin smiled and thanked Xai Lin.

"Thank you, Senior—"

However, the words of thanks got stuck in Su Jin's throat when he used his Soul Sense to peer inside the bag.

Without even mentioning the glittering Spirit Weapon Artifacts and protective robes situated on a weapon rack and a clothing rack, just the pile of High-grade Spirit Stones that filled one third of this one hundred square meter space caused Su Jin to suck in a cold breath of air.

Even though he was the Second Young Master of a Clan who had produced an Immortal that went on to found an Immortal Sect and conquer an entire continent, it was impossible for him to take out so many treasures and Spirit Stones.

Su Jin had longed speculated Xai Lin might be from a top-level Immortal Sect or an Ancient Clan, but this once again refreshed Su Jin's understanding of this older sister of his identity, and the backing behind her.

Xai Lin chuckled at Su Jin's dazed look, before she turned him to his room door and nudge him forward.

"Go on, take your time looking over those items. Also, when you're out, listen out for any important news in the city. Also, pay special attention to the Han Clan. There is a communication jade slip in the storage bag that can allow you to contact us at any time."

Su Jin nodded, still a bit dazed, as he took out his room plaque and pressed it against the door to open the formation surrounding the room, before stepping inside and closing the door behind him.

After watching Su Jin enter the room, Xai Lin also used the room key to enter the room she now shared with An Mo.

However, the moment the door closed behind the two, An Mo's relaxed demeanor completely collapsed, and he let himself fall into Xai Lin's arms. His face, that had a healthy color, also rapidly turn deathly pale.

Xai Lin seeing this, sighed and said.

"Why bother suppressing your injury like this, if you know it will rebound?"

Groaning, An Mo said in a hoarse voice.

"I just didn't want Little Jin to worry. Didn't you see how pitiful his little face looked when he saw me getting injured?"

Xai Lin rolled her eyes upon hearing An Mo's words, and while helping him to the bed in the room, she exposed his lie.

"Don't try to fool me, I know you're just afraid of losing the majesty of a big brother in front of Su Jin."

An Mo chuckled at that, but Xai Lin snorted and unceremoniously threw An Mo onto the bed.

"Ngh…"

An Mo let out a low groan, before clutching his abdomen and curling up slightly on the somewhat large bed, and messing up the white silk covering of the bed.

Xai Lin's brows furrowed upon seeing this—she sat on the bed next to An Mo before reaching out her hand to place her palm on his lower abdomen and channeling Spiritual Qi into his dantian.

"Is it really that painful?"

Xai Lin asked, and An Mo uncharacteristically didn't try to exaggerate his injury for sympathy as he said truthfully.

"Even though my injuries are fully recovered, the process of my cultivation base being forcefully stripped from me is still extremely painful, and it's not something my body's healing ability can resolve. Also…"

An Mo looked up at Xai Lin and said dejectedly.

"…While living in the Demonic Realm, I've never experienced anything painful, so my tolerance for pain is somewhat lacking. But my body is special, so I'll be able to adapt to it soon."

Xai Lin pursed her lips at that—she stopped channeling her Spiritual Qi into An Mo as it seemed it wasn't helping—turning to rub his abdomen through his clothing instead, she softly said.

"It's not a good thing for you to get used to being in pain."

An Mo closed his eyes, and while trying to enjoy Xai Lin's care, he smiled while saying.

"If it's for my Xai-xai, then enduring a bit of pain is worth it."

Xai Lin looked at An Mo with a helpless expression, before muttering.

"How shameless."

Afterward, Xai Lin turned and lay on the bed next to An Mo. However, An Mo immediately wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her into his embrace.

Xai Lin didn't resist, only shifting her head into a comfortable position on An Mo's chest before closing her eyes and listening to his steady heartbeat.

Like that, the two lay together in a tranquil silence for an unknown amount of time.
