Chapter 206 - Chapter 206: This Rover’s Speaker Has to Go

Rover paused for a moment before saying, "This Rover's Speaker has to go."

Shorekeeper looked troubled. "That robot seems far more intelligent… at least, it understands human emotions better than I do…"

With a hint of sadness, Shorekeeper continued, "If I had worked harder and understood those people's emotions sooner, maybe this could have been avoided."

Lucian comforted her, "Don't belittle yourself. You've already done well. Without you, things might have been worse."

Shorekeeper was silent for a moment. "Giving everything, whether it's the Sonoro Sphere or…"

"Only then can I protect this starry sky. Only then can I protect you all."

Lucian froze, sensing deeper meaning in Shorekeeper's words.

If Rover's Speaker could replace the Lament as the Tethys System's core, then naturally, Shorekeeper could too…

Lucian glanced at Shorekeeper, whose beautiful eyes were tinged with sadness, and quietly grasped her soft, cold wrist.

Shorekeeper looked over in confusion. The group stepped out of the elevator, arriving at the lower level of the Error Cell.

Looking at Death Star in the center of the area, Lucian said softly, "The duty of redemption is that no one needs saving…"

"I didn't fully understand that phrase before, but now I do."

Rover nodded slightly, having also caught the hidden meaning in Shorekeeper's words. "No matter what, we won't let anyone be sacrificed."

Shorekeeper glanced at Lucian's back and pursed her lips. Though Lucian comforted her, she had already made up her mind and wouldn't change it easily.

Shorekeeper stepped forward. "That right there is the contained Death Star."

"According to old-era physics, gravity causes spacetime distortions."

Lucian turned and asked, "Will it be dangerous ahead?"

Shorekeeper nodded slightly. "It might be."

"I can hear… the voices of people in another spacetime."

Lucian mused thoughtfully, "How about Rover stays here and waits for good news?"

Before Rover could respond, Abby darted out first. "Hey, hey, hey! You're not trying to have a private moment with Shorekeeper, are you?"

Lucian: "?"

Rover: "?"

Shorekeeper: "?"

Lucian grabbed Abby's ear in frustration. "You little punk, three days without a beating, and you're climbing the walls, huh?"

"I'm thinking of Rover's safety. I also have the highest authority over the Tethys System, so it's the same whether it's me or Rover, right?"

Seeing Lucian's questioning gaze, Shorekeeper nodded slightly. "Yes, both you and Rover have the highest authority over the Tethys System and can issue commands to it."

Lucian nodded slightly. "Good. So, I have an idea: either have Rover's Speaker completely replace the Tethys System or use it to replace the Tethys System's core, the 'Lament.'"

Rover was stunned for a moment before pondering, "It doesn't seem impossible, but while Rover's Speaker understands human emotions well, can it also be omniscient about things like the Lament?"

Lucian smiled slightly. "Have you forgotten? Back at the outer perimeter of the Error Cell, Rover's Speaker scanned the place and explained it thoroughly with just a simple scan."

"Even if it doesn't understand something, with its learning ability, it should quickly catch up to the Tethys System."

"And the Tethys System's flaw is that it uses the Lament as its core and doesn't understand human emotions. If Rover's Speaker can replace it, wouldn't that fix all those flaws?"

[Option 1: Use Rover's Speaker to completely replace the Tethys System. Reward: S-tier lottery chance.]

[Option 2: Use Rover's Speaker to replace the Tethys System's core. Reward: Rover's Speaker Ultimate Upgrade Module.]

[Option 3: Use Shorekeeper to replace the Tethys System's core. Reward: One point.]

[Option 4: Use yourself to replace the Tethys System's core. Reward: Rover will search for a replacement core to save you.]

[Option 5: Use Rover to replace the Tethys System's core. Reward: One Shell Credit.]

Shorekeeper said in a daze, "Is that possible?"

Rover thought for a moment. "I think it's worth a try."

"But I have to go with you! What if something happens? I can't let you go alone."

At that moment, Rover's Speaker requested to be released from the system space again. Lucian agreed, and it zipped out.

"Beginning analysis—Rover's concern for Lucian can be divided into two points."

"First: Out of concern for Lucian's safety, Rover doesn't want him to get hurt."

"Second: Due to anxiety about Lucian's personality, Rover believes that leaving Lucian alone with Shorekeeper could lead to unknown consequences."

Rover's expression darkened. "I think Rover's Speaker is too humanized to replace the Tethys System!"

Lucian smirked mischievously. "I think Rover's Speaker's analysis is spot on."

Shorekeeper said innocently, "Unknown consequences? Why is that…?"

Rover's Speaker, having heard the earlier conversation, said, "I need to understand the Tethys System to analyze whether I can replace it."

"Based on my current understanding of the Tethys System, it's still insufficient."

Lucian: "Your words are as enlightening as… words."

Lucian pondered. The Tethys System didn't understand human emotions enough, but Rover's Speaker seemed to understand them too well. If it got another upgrade module, Lucian couldn't even imagine the outcome.

He asked the system in his mind, "System, can you guarantee that Rover's Speaker will still be fully under my control after an upgrade?"

[No matter how much Rover's Speaker is upgraded, it will remain fully under your control.]

Lucian nodded slightly. If that was the case, there was no issue.

Lucian winked playfully. "Since Rover's so worried about me, let's go in together."

"Today is the day I, Lucian, clear my reputation!"

Rover sneered. "Even if you don't make a move on Shorekeeper today, you'll definitely find a chance to do it later."

Lucian clutched his chest, feigning hurt. "Rover, you're slandering me!"

Rover patted Lucian's shoulder. "Don't pretend. Don't I know you?"

Shorekeeper exclaimed in shock, "Make a move on me…? Are you going to destroy me?"

Seeing Shorekeeper's misunderstanding, Rover quickly waved her hands to explain. "No… how do I put this…"

Shorekeeper saw Rover frowning, struggling to find the right words, then glanced at Rover's Speaker and Lucian. Suddenly, she seemed to realize something. "I… I think I understand…"

Rover asked in confusion, "You understand?"

Shorekeeper nodded slightly. "You mean Mr. Lucian wants to… 'make a move' on me… right?"

Lucian: "?"

"What are you all going on about?"
