Originally, Shindai thought he had grown strong enough not to be treated as cannon fodder. After all, he was confident in facing off against any member of the Akatsuki and stood a good chance of victory.
But when it came to Madara Uchiha... just looking at him made Shindai feel like he had absolutely no chance of winning.
If even Obito and the other four members' Susanoo could be suddenly destroyed, how could his puppets possibly surpass a Susanoo?
When Shindai caught sight of someone standing behind Madara Uchiha, his eyes shot wide open. Impossible! Could it really be him?
Since Sasuke hadn't awakened his Mangekyo Sharingan yet, he couldn't offer any real help in this battle, so he chose to hide himself.
