UK:GSW Chapter 405 – The Completely Suppressed Nagato, Black Zetsu Wants to Directly Control Him
"These two brats… have they already become this strong?"
Jiraiya muttered, feeling as if he were redundant.
In his field of vision, ahead was already a battle of giant beasts—every Jinchuriki had fully transformed into their Tailed Beast forms.
Several Tailed Beasts, each with Yin–Yang Release black rods embedded in them, were battling the golden Nine-Tails that Naruto had become. Even with a numerical advantage, they were completely suppressed by Naruto and the Nine-Tails.

From the first exchange, Nagato realized that if he let only the Jinchuriki and Tailed Beasts fight, Naruto and Kakashi could easily wipe them out.
So Nagato joined the fray himself.
Using the Six Paths abilities and the Rinnegan to their fullest, his presence became a key factor in restraining Kakashi and interfering with Naruto.
Shinra Tensei, Bansho Ten'in, various Ninjutsu, chakra absorption, mechanical assaults—his techniques came in an endless stream, fully displaying the power Nagato possessed in a healthy state. This was the same overwhelming power he had shown in the original story when Kabuto revived him with Edo Tensei, allowing him to absorb the Eight-Tails' chakra and restore his health.
With this strength, his cooperation with the Jinchuriki was precise and complete, allowing them to withstand the fierce assault of Nine-Tails-form Naruto and Lightning God–form Kakashi.
For a while, the two sides were evenly matched.
Although Konan was present, Nagato knew she could not join the fight—otherwise, she could be taken out instantly like a small fry. From the start, he ordered her to retreat to a safe location.
Now, Jiraiya and Konan were watching the fierce battle from afar, both shaken by the power on display.

At the same time, Nagato used Summoning Jutsu to recall all the Jinchuriki Pains to his side, leaving Naruto and his allies alone to face Chibaku Tensei's supergravity.
This was the Rinnegan's ultimate ability—Chibaku Tensei, the most powerful sealing technique in Naruto Shippuden.
The Sage of Six Paths and his brother had used it to seal Kaguya Otsutsuki, creating the moon.
Later, in the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto and Sasuke had also used Six Paths–Chibaku Tensei to seal Kaguya again.
In the original story, Nagato couldn't use the Six Paths version, but even his standard Chibaku Tensei was formidable—he nearly sealed Naruto and the Nine-Tails. If not for Minato's chakra helping Naruto regain control, they would have been captured.
Back then, Nagato's frail body couldn't withstand the technique's cost. But now, fully restored and empowered, he ignored the drain, pouring more and more chakra into it to maximize its sealing power—determined to at least seal the Nine-Tails.
Holding his hands together, he kept channeling chakra from a distance, resolute in his intent.
In the distance, Naruto and the others were being lifted into the air by the shattered ground, unable to resist the immense gravitational force.
However, they were unfazed—they had already been briefed on the Rinnegan's abilities, including this technique.
Chibaku Tensei was powerful, but its weakness was the core—the black sphere itself. Destroy it, and the technique collapses.
Normally, this was extremely difficult due to its high altitude and gravitational pull, as well as the debris shielding it.
But for Naruto's group, this was no obstacle.

The fight dragged into a stalemate. Chibaku Tensei, even for him now, had a cooldown—he couldn't spam it.
Thus, Nagato remained on the defensive.
Konan, worried for him, finally joined the battle—only to be swiftly struck down by Kakashi, who had no mercy for any enemy, male or female.
Before Nagato could react, Konan was cut down, blood spraying from her back.
Nagato roared in rage, using a massive Shinra Tensei to knock Kakashi back before catching Konan in his arms, gazing anxiously at her pained, weakened face.
Though he treated her immediately, the Rinnegan's healing was mediocre on ordinary people—far less effective than Naraka Path's restoration or Rinne Tensei's revival.
Meanwhile, Black Zetsu inside Nagato's body was astonished—Nagato had been strengthened this much, yet he still couldn't win.
Black Zetsu began considering using his backup plan: forcibly controlling Nagato to make him use Rinne Tensei and resurrect Madara Uchiha.
But with Nagato still in peak condition, such an attempt risked failure—jeopardizing the entire plan.
