Josh scrambled backward, his eyes wide with alarm. "Don't do anything rash," he pleaded, his voice a nervous squeak. "You won't gain anything from beating me up!"
Marlon simply nodded, a dangerous calm settling over his face. "I know I won't gain anything from beating you up," he admitted. "But I just want to beat you up this time, for real, because you've been a monumental pain in the ass."
Without waiting for another word, Josh turned and bolted. He ran for his newly acquired condo building at the other end of the private road. Despite wearing high heels, Marlon was still as fast as he was in flat shoes. He quickly caught up to the panicking man.
Marlon reached out, yanked Josh back by his expensive suit jacket, and delivered a swift, powerful kick right to his solar plexus.
The force of the blow knocked the air completely out of Josh's lungs, and he collapsed onto the ground, groaning and struggling to breathe.
