It hadn't even been 12 hours since they all returned from the dungeon when an emergency Denatus was called, this time by unilateral decree, Ouranos called it, demanding all gods to appear for this one, to include those who'd yet to have a child level up even once.
The room which was usually incredibly spacious was now considerably cramped with the numerous gods in attendance. In fact, they had everyone there, including by way of mirror conferencing from afar nations, and from below the guild. This wasn't just the gods in Orario, it was all of the gods currently in Gekai.
"Ouranos, why'd you call everyone here like this, so suddenly? My familia is preparing for a war game!" Loki demanded in a nervous outburst, she could tell something was going on.
"I'd also like to know what this is all about." Freya said, for once struggling to maintain her own calm, and collected demeanor.
The powerful gaze Ouranos had, shifted towards Loki & Freya both. He looked almost disgusted, with them, and, himself.
"You'll find out in a moment, wait until our last arrival makes it here."
"What? This is everyone."
"Hermes, could you go get them for us?"
Hermes' eyes widened, and sighed, giving a nod, then glanced at Hathor for a short moment. It wasn't but a few seconds later that the chamber doors opened up again.
"Alright, who's the damn jokester telling my mother that I have to be here right now?" Shurry walked in stretching his muscles, and cracking his neck. "Seriously, I just came up from the dungeon, can't you let me enjoy myself for a little while?"
"Why is he here?"
"He is the subject of today's meeting. He has a new ability he needs to share with everyone here. Level 10 should be enough, right?"
Shurry cringed. Hathor giggled.
"Oh come on, why would I even bother using it?"
"Because it would allow you to significantly change your strategy… Our strategy…"
"Listen if you think I've got the time to prick my damn finger every time someone wants a status update down there, you're outta of your damn mind. The dungeon gets really bad, really quick past the 70th floor. I'm constantly busy hunting, or resting for the next hunt."
"Unless you're training…"
"I'm not saying anything more. Gods have a nasty ability of figuring shit out with the slightest of details." Shurry snarled. "And with this many here, you might actually have the answer already… Maybe, hard to predict."
"Fine. I'll just move on to the next bit of news. 8 years ago, when all who returned were Alraj, Alfia, and Zald, it was I who asked Loki, and Freya familia to push them out of the city. It was an effort to keep up the hope of victory despite the losses suffered against that dragon. I had placed my hopes in them to be the beacons for this generation… I never expected Alraj to be killed that day."
Shurry simply continued staring into Ouranos' soul, it was as if he was being mapped, or maybe even marking him. However, this was nothing new, Shurry had already figured everything out. There was no reason to act on it. Since that would destroy the suppression on the dungeon.
"What are you trying to say?"
"I was thinking it would be a good chance to see Meteria in action again."
Shurry shook his head.
"Why do you say no?"
"If we added her, we wouldn't need anyone else on that field." Shurry stated matter of factly. "Besides, the way things are currently…" Shurry looked over to Astraea, who smiled. "It's already going to be an… interesting war game…" He sighed. "If that's all I'm leaving now. I really don't want people thinking I'm a god now, it was bad enough when they started thinking I was a half-god." He had a shiver run down the length of his spine…
"Hold on! I have to ask again, what would it cost to have you sow one of my amazoness' fields?" Ishtar asked, practically desperate. "I have this one young woman, her name is Aisha, and she's-"
Shurry's cold, beastly, predatory glare made Ishtar's blood run cold.
"Let me make this so clear that even a moron could understand…" Shurry said and then cleared his throat. "I'd rather fight Erebus again, than ever lay with an Amazoness. The very idea of it sickens me to my core, enough it makes me want to rampage- I mean HUNT."
Shurry turned and left the room, leaving the gods behind to think about their new traumatic experience in being that close to Shurry, for all they saw… was Fenrir, the wolf who terrorized Tenkai with ruthless efficiency.
"He's an interesting child, Hathor, you really got lucky with him."
"Thanks, my son is absolutely amazing isn't he! The way he snuggles up like a cute little puppy! The fierceness in which he defends his family, his pack. I love him so much!"
"Heh, I wish those bitches didn't hurt him like that long ago. Otherwise I'd still have him here." Kali said. "I wish he would have said something, but I suppose he's already heard of his sister's fate?"
"He has, he didn't take it too well."
"That's enough. The war game is on."
Ouranos quickly demanded, and then removed his mirror from the room. Some gods complained that the meeting could have been an email, or even a mirror call. But no! They just had to go in person.
Loki and Freya both left the room rather quickly, each a little more than worried about the state of things. Their current predicament was not looking good at all.
Final preparations began spinning up, and both sides had to make their move. For the battle was to be a castle siege, the Shreme Ruins would serve as the combat site. The Loki and Freya familia were tasked with defending the castle.
On the opposing side, Astraea familia, Bell, Meda, Donathan, and Legi were to make their assault and take over the castle. They needed to capture the whole castle, and defeat the general.
The day came, and the city was electric. This time the violence wasn't for evil, it was for entertainment… At least… That's what the citizens thought.
