LOG 85 – Incident Report: SCP-173 Breach Interception

DATE: ██/██/████

LOCATION: Site-███

AUTHORIZATION: Level 5 Clearance Required

BEGIN LOG

At approximately 14:37 hours, a Class-4 containment breach occurred within Sector 4B, involving SCP-173 ("The Sculpture"). The breach resulted in the deaths of two D-Class personnel and one security officer before standard containment protocol could be enacted.

EVENT DETAILS:

At 14:43 hours, SCP-Null was observed exiting Chamber C2 following a routine, authorized Tea Session with SCP-085. During transit through Corridor 4-Delta, Null encountered SCP-173 directly at an intersecting corridor. The proximity between the two anomalies was measured at approximately 5.7 meters.

Standard automatic lockdown procedures were already underway. Video surveillance confirms that SCP-Null, upon sighting SCP-173, immediately turned to face the entity and ceased all motion, entering a sustained state of eye contact.

Null remained stationary, unblinking, for 4 hours and 52 minutes—until MTF-Epsilon-11 ("Nine-Tailed Fox") breached the corridor to re-contain SCP-173. Upon their arrival, Null verbally confirmed:

"It's under control. My eyes itch like hell, though."

POST-EVENT ANALYSIS:

SCP-173 successfully re-contained.

Zero further casualties following Null's intervention.

Medical Note: SCP-Null received minor saline treatment for ocular dryness. No lasting effects recorded.

Dr. Quinn's Note:

"That man stared death in the face for five hours and just asked for eyedrops."

INTERNAL MORALE NOTE:While not formally recorded in this document, it has been observed—and unofficially confirmed through indirect chamber surveillance audio—that SCP-Null's containment partners "celebrated" his success in their own unique fashion that evening.

[Further redacted by order of Dr. Quinn. "Let the man rest. Or… don't."]

CONCLUSION:This incident reaffirms SCP-Null's unique utility within high-risk containment scenarios. Further consideration may be given to granting Null additional clearance to act as a failsafe observer in the event of other non-sapient anomaly breaches.
