Vasa spread the three bounty licenses across the old science lab floor and covered every public clause with ice. The exposed paper looked ordinary: company registration, weapon declarations, casualty coverage, and a legal reference to the national seizure order.
The useful text was buried underneath.
Nox stood beside the table while Vasa peeled each license apart one layer at a time.
Much of the building no longer resembled a school. The lab still had its original drain, locked specimen cabinets, and one wall where a teacher's safety chart refused to fall.
"They used different authorizations: Far Reach had a freight recovery waiver, White Pike had a combat pursuit warrant, and Blackline had a medical extraction exception," Vasa said.
"Different doors into the same city, except they all lead through the same route," Nox said.
