Cherreads

Chapter 487 - Chapter 487: Naruto’s Wedding

Minato and Kushina stayed behind. With their son's wedding coming up, they felt bad about asking Kiyosuke to use Edo Tensei again, so they decided to remain in the village and help prepare for Naruto's wedding.

...

Naruto and Hinata scheduled their ceremony for the month when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. During this time, many people in Konoha were preparing wedding gifts for them.

...

Kirigakure

Mei Terumī asked Kiyosuke,

"Naruto and Hinata are getting married. What are you planning to give them?"

Kiyosuke was holding his daughter, gently coaxing her.

"Five days and six nights in Kirigakure. All expenses covered. I already arranged their honeymoon."

"Just that?"

"Why not? Yuka, smile for Daddy. Give Daddy a smile."

"Heehee!"

Yuka burst into a bright, adorable grin.

"My little princess is the cutest in the world."

Holding his daughter, he said to his wife,

"Honestly, Naruto doesn't care about gifts. Originally, I planned to use Edo Tensei to bring his parents out as a wedding present, but… things didn't go as planned. So this will have to do."

Mei Terumī was speechless.

"Who gives the groom his resurrected parents as a wedding gift?"

"That's why I'm giving them this instead. I'll cover everything. Just hand me the list of their expenses later."

He never really spent much of his mission money. After buying a house and some land, he still had plenty left. And once Konoha's new district started development, he was guaranteed to make another fortune.

He really had made buckets of money.

"Oh, right. You give him the honeymoon. I'll give Hinata a piece of land. Guaranteed to double in value later."

Thinking it over, Kiyosuke decided to switch gifts.

"Fine. Then I'll send them some specialty goods from Kirigakure as well."

She had put real thought into Naruto's wedding gift — everything she chose was high quality.

"By the way, who are you planning to choose as the next Mizukage?"

Kiyosuke asked casually.

Mei Terumī was already preparing to step down, but she still hadn't settled on a successor.

"Ao is the best choice. But he doesn't have the mindset to be Mizukage."

She shook her head. The person most suited for the position was Ao — but he himself had no desire for it.

She had no idea why, but it gave her a terrible headache.

"Then pick Chōjūrō," Kiyosuke said lightly. "Gaara took over as Kazekage at around fourteen or fifteen. If Ao mentors Chōjūrō properly, Kirigakure will develop steadily. What the village needs now is a young Mizukage."

Suddenly, he felt killing intent.

Mei Terumī turned back with a serene smile.

"Are you saying I'm not young?"

"How could that be? You're only twenty."

She was clearly already thirty…

"That's better."

"Chōjūrō is still too young. Let him work as Mizukage's assistant for a while so he can get familiar with the responsibilities. Kirigakure needs development. We can't stay the way we used to."

Because of long-term isolation, Kirigakure had far less contact with the outside world and fell behind compared to other villages. Now that the world was peaceful, they needed to seize the chance to grow.

"You're right. You handle things for a while."

"Mm."

"Alright, I'll take Yuka out for a walk. Keeping her cooped up at home isn't good."

Kids needed fresh air — otherwise they'd go stir-crazy.

Kiyosuke stroked his daughter's soft hair and carried her out to play.

...

Time passed quickly.

In the blink of an eye, the day of Naruto and Hinata's wedding arrived. Kiyosuke and Mei Terumī showed up with their daughter and their gifts.

Unlike their own ceremony, Naruto and Hinata chose a shrine-style wedding — just like Minato and Kushina back then. Every traditional step was followed. Sitting at the table for close friends and family, Kiyosuke couldn't help but sigh.

"That little kid was knee-high back in the day. Now he's already getting married… time really does fly."

"So true," Kakashi said with emotion.

In his arms were his newborn twins — Hatake Nanao and Hatake Kokomi.

A boy and a girl.

Ah yes, the children Kakashi had with Hanare had also just been born recently, and he had brought them along to the wedding.

Both babies had silver hair, delicate and adorable. The son's eyes looked exactly like his father's — giving off that unmistakable Gintoki vibe…

Kiyosuke held his little princess. When Kakashi's son leaned toward her, he immediately shifted backward.

"Hey, Kakashi, what's with your kid? He's already trying to get close to my daughter? I'm telling you right now — that kid's gonna be a flirt when he grows up."

"What kind of thing is that to say? They're babies! And what's with that attitude? Are you a daughter-con?"

"Hahaha! My son is the cutest in the world!"

Obito appeared, proudly holding his son, Sora. Rin stood beside him, helpless — whenever Obito talked about their kid, he turned into a complete idiot dad.

"Bullshit! My daughter is the cutest in the world!"

"Lies! My son is!"

Kiyosuke and Obito started bickering, looking like they were about to actually fight. In the end, Kushina punched both of them and knocked sense back into their heads.

"They're such idiots. Ever since Yuka was born, Kiyosuke's IQ dropped into the negatives," Mei Terumī said helplessly.

Rin nodded.

"Mine too… sigh."

"Sigh…"

Both women let out matching, weary sighs.

...

The ceremony went smoothly. After completing all the rituals, Naruto and Hinata changed into formal wear and went around toasting every table.

"So this is Yuka?" Naruto bent down, meeting her emerald eyes. Yuka immediately giggled.

"So cute," Hinata said warmly.

"Your kids will definitely be cute too," Kiyosuke teased.

Neither of them had the mental defenses needed to survive such teasing. Their faces flushed instantly.

Kiyosuke burst out laughing.

"You're already married — you can't still be this shy, Hinata."

"Yes, Kiyosuke-sensei."

"Make sure you two look after my little girl in the future."

"I'll treat her like my own little sister!" Naruto promised.

Kiyosuke added,

"I just hope she doesn't end up calling you uncle."

He still remembered — far too vividly — how Naruto had called him uncle when he was younger.

Naruto let out a bitter laugh and downed a full cup of sake.

Looks like he might not be entering the bridal chamber on his own two feet tonight…

Soon, others gathered around and took turns getting Naruto drunk. He was the first of them to get married — no one knew when the others would take their turn.

"You two should hurry up and find someone too. At this rate, my Naruto's kid will be in school before either of you get married," Kiyosuke said to Kiba and Shino.

"Okay, Kiyosuke-sensei! I'll definitely get married soon!" Kiba declared confidently.

He then stayed single for more than ten years.

Shino adjusted his glasses silently.

Kiyosuke didn't press the matter further.

The wedding remained cheerful and lively until late into the night. In the end, Naruto had to be carried home by Shikamaru and the others.
