In front of Kairon stood a man with a distinguishable aura. The man's Golden eyes with blue strips at the end of the iris, gave Kairon a confused yet stern look. His light blue hair made his face look even better. After Kairon took a closer observation, he realised the man, was actually a young man. Or rather, a guy that was probably in his 20's.
Kairon didn't quite like his handsome face.
Yet, once again. The handsome man's pretty face was not the concern here. It was the man himself.
"Aldryn Everhart. A important character for the plot of the game of the first novel. *The Seventh Princess*.
No. He was not a love intrest, nor was he some loosing male lead. He was the GODDAMN VILLAN of the game!!
Well, not exactly that. In the novel, after the main character chose just a single lead, who was, of course, Aldryn. The fan's of the other leads were super mad.
One of the fan complained, fought and even made a whole game about the novel(She asked for the copyrights).
She was so jealous of Aldryn, she decided to design him as a Villan who was destined to be killed in every single route.
Crazy right? I actually liked his character a bit. Hey, hey. I get it. A guy playing an otome game? Trust me. It's purely for the plot."
"Uh..Yes? Did you come for inspections?" Aldryn broke the silence, his deep, composed voice brought Kairon back to reality.
Kairon was so indulged in his quick-witted thinking that he almost forgot about the main issue in front of him.
"Ah! Y-yes!!" He quickly composed himself, "We were indeed checking the houses. Also, I previously said it, and am telling you again. But, make sure to put your name next to the house number. Either on a wooden board, or metal. Actually, however you like. Even a mythril would work."
"Uh.. i don't think mythril is actually used for that. But i will keep that in mind." Aldryn scratched his neck, confused at Kairon's bluntness.
Suddenly, an sound echoed in Kairon's head. The familiar blue screen popped up on his face.

Kairon paused, then went back to normal. Dismissing the screen away and carefully entering the house.
Even as Kairon entered the house, his eyes were still fixated on Aldryn's burnt left hand. He didn't say anything, just inspected the house along with Varn.
After a while, All of them entered the living room. Kairon slumped back on the wooden chair near the dining table, sighing heavily as he glared at Varn.
"Everything clear?"
Varn simply nodded, crossing his arms. "Well, yeah. The report is done. Oh!" He paused, turning towards the bedroom door, "I haven't checked the bedroom."
"Now that i think about it. Didn't you say two people lived here." Kairon leaned forward, eyeing at Aldryn, "Where's your sister?"
Aldryn didn't reply. He stared at Kairon for a few moments before glancing at the bedroom door. He's calm expression dropped, eyes narrowing at the wooden floor.
"My sister is ill. I would be thankful if you could pardon the inconvenience."
Kairon fliched, eyes widening.
"His sister's ill? Does that mean it's that disease? She was ill from such a young age? It wasn't really mentioned in the novel nor the game though.
But, Since the FMC had cured the disease I guess it's not a serious problem. But still.. i should check"
"I know you are concerned about your sibling, however, we must ensure equality.
Worry not, we will do our best to not disturb her."
Aldryn once again fell in silence. No matter how strong he physically was, mentally he was still a kid who just happened to grow up. A child of a fallen noble, with his gaurdian's dead at an early age, he had no choice but to work for his only family.
And now, she was on her deathbed. Lying with undeserved pain and suffering.
"I see.." Aldryn glanced down, harshly accepting the request.
Varn patted his shoulder, with a faint smile he cheered him up.
"Hey. Don't worry man. I pretty sure she will get better soon."
Aldryn nodded.
Kairon slowly entered the bedroom. The structure was the same as before. However, the dreadfull aura oozing everywhere in the room was suffocating.
Kairon saw the reason for all of it. On the bed, a small girl laid with a blanket covering her to the neck. Her little face had gone pale, the similar light blue coloured hair was messy. He approached closer.
Her lips had became almost purple, she groaned in pain, turning around on the bed uncomfortably.
The sight was heartbreaking to see. A young child suffering so much.
Once again, the same thought rang in his mind.
"Is this really a novel? Are they really not real people?"
Ever since Kairon had came, he treated this world like a simple fake world. A world in which people were just someone's imagination.
But.. was that really the case? What if they were real people? Did they not have families? Did they not have emotions? Did they not speak? Think? Eat?...
...Live?
How were they any different?
Just a moment before, the system treated Aldryn as an important *character*. Why? Why not a person? Why use such a term?
"Ghhh..." The girl groaned again, Kairon hurriedly looked back.
He put his hands on her forehead. It was cold. Not a simple cold. It was as cold as ice, as if her skin was loosing blood.
"Seriously...? This is kinda serious. Should I really let this wait out? Since i have changed the plot a little, there might be a chance for the butterfly effect to potentially kill her."
He sighed, scratching his head. "Maybe i should delay going to the academy."
---
"What?! So, You are actually delaying the trip?" Varn growled, still not fully understanding the sudden change of plan. He put the reports on the study table and stared at Kairon sitting on the chair.
"Yeah. This is kinda serious. There's actually a curse on her."
Varn gasped, eyes widening in horror. "Curse? You mean, The sigil of the dead? But how?! Even knights die from simple curses, and you are telling me that little child has a curse?"
"Well, it's kinda hard to put it."
"C'mon! It's impossible for a kid to survive with a curse."
"Actually... She doesn't have a curse.
She's a cursed being. No, to put it accurately.
She has the heart of an undead."
