I stare at the birds flying freely in the distance, and the subtle sight stirs something deep inside me. Everything here feels different.
Even the air is threaded with peace and freedom. Unlike in my kingdom. I've sunk my claws into everything that even the animals seem afraid to roam.
I'm pretty sure if I died today, my people would celebrate. Who would blame them, though?
I have been a horrible ruler. Whatever way karma returns to me, I deserve it. And they have wonderful leaders in Igma and Rhydian. I won't be missed.
But before I go, I must do this one good deed for all of them.
"A penny for them?" Queen Cassia's voice breaks my thoughts, and I turn to her. She's sitting across from me, draped in a beautiful, silver dress, and for a moment, I'm lost.
