Walking out the door, Peter Hughes glanced at Nora Scott and Pedro Langley, then gestured towards Ernesto Scott, "Shouldn't we leave him out of the young folks' business?"

However, Nora Scott and Pedro Langley didn't mind the "uncle" from Peter Hughes, they figured Peter wanted to discuss something about Crystal Hughes and Camilo Nogueira by getting Ernesto Scott out of the way.
After thinking for a moment, Nora said to Ernesto Scott, "Dad, you should head back first."
"Oh, alright."
Ernesto Scott's annoyance was easily soothed by that single "Dad" from Nora.

It must mean she acknowledges him as her father!
Thus, Ernesto Scott left, seeming quite pleased with himself.
Peter Hughes gave him a bewildered look.
