The girl's breathing was very weak.
She probably wasn't being chased, but had run to a secluded place herself. When she reached the riverside, she stumbled due to exhaustion and hunger, and managed to crawl towards the river before passing out.
Fortunately, Nora Scott and the others arrived in time.
They carried the little girl into the car, sped to the hospital, and got her into the emergency room.
Nora stayed in the car, not showing her face.
Henry Chapman went inside.
While waiting for news, Pedro Langley came out, silently got into the car.
"How is it?"
Nora was on the phone, and upon hearing the movement beside her, she temporarily set the phone aside and asked softly.
Pedro leaned in, pulled her into his embrace, and brushed against her hair with a slightly hoarse voice, "Excessive blood loss, it's critical."
"Hmm."
Nora reacted mildly, gripping his hand.
She said a few words to Bruce on the other end and then hung up the phone.
