Chapter 218 - Misunderstanding, We’re from Shrek Academy

Ao Tian raised his hands, stopping Qian Renxue, who was about to throw herself into his arms.

"After how exhausted you were last night, you should really take it easy. Don't rush things," Ao Tian said.

Earlier, he had actually been planning to take Qian Renxue to meet Gu Yuena and the other girls, let them get along and develop some friendly feelings.

But if Qian Renxue got clingy again, that plan would have to wait until noon.

Qian Renxue frowned. "I don't feel any problem at all. My body's full of power, I've never felt better. I even faintly sense a breakthrough in my cultivation—really, I'm not tired in the slightest."

Of course you're not tired, I just helped you regulate your whole body, Ao Tian thought speechlessly, but he still said, "Alright then, just for a little while. Xiao Wu and the others have already arrived in Tian Dou City—I'll be taking you to meet them later."

"Hehe." Qian Renxue grinned mischievously, grabbed Ao Tian by the waist, and carried him straight inside.

"Then we'll go at noon. That's still three hours away," she said, eyes gleaming.

It was the first time Ao Tian had ever been carried so dominantly by a woman, and strangely enough, he even felt a trace of embarrassment.

Thankfully, Na'er and the others weren't here to see this, or his majestic, heroic image would've completely collapsed.

After being apart for a while, the reunion felt even sweeter. Her love for Ao Tian had been bottled up for too long. Even though they'd already gone wild last night, Qian Renxue's passion was still just as intense.

And she really liked that overwhelming, irresistible feeling.

Outside Tian Dou City, the Shrek group had been walking for nearly an hour. After asking around several times, they finally arrived near the Royal Academy.

"So this is the Royal Academy?" Flender asked, his tone odd as he pointed toward a towering mountain nearly a thousand meters high.

The Tian Dou Royal Academy was quite famous in the city. Most commoners roughly knew its location, and the Shrek group had followed the locals' directions all the way here.

The mountain was covered in lush vegetation. Buildings could be faintly seen among the trees, and behind the mountain stretched a dense forest. To one side lay a tranquil lake.

The Grandmaster compared the sight with the descriptions he'd heard before, then nodded. "This should be it. Let's go up and ask to confirm."

At this point, apart from not being able to move too strenuously, the Grandmaster was able to walk normally again.

"Backed by mountains and facing water—truly worthy of the Royal Academy. What a place," Tang San sighed in admiration.

"Compared to that godforsaken dump we were in before, this place is paradise," Ma Hongjun muttered.

Oscar nudged him and said, "Fatty, I bet there are tons of female students here. Your dream of finding a spirit master girlfriend might just come true."

Ma Hongjun was still wearing his black mask, hiding all his facial skin. His expression couldn't be seen, but the excitement gleaming in his eyes said it all.

This time, neither Flender nor the other teachers mocked him.

Zhao Wuji patted Ma Hongjun on the shoulder, speaking earnestly, "While we're here this year, you'd better train hard. Women like strong men. As long as your strength is great enough, they won't care much about looks."

Encouraged, Ma Hongjun nodded vigorously.

"Let's go," Flender said, leading the way forward. As they walked, he sighed, "The air's fresh, the scenery's beautiful—perfect place for retirement. Too bad we're only staying for a year."

Just then, trouble arrived.

"Stop! Who are you people?" a loud shout came from behind.

Flender and the others turned around in confusion, only to see over a dozen young men rushing toward them, quickly surrounding the group.

There were eleven of them in total—and to the Shrek group's astonishment, each one had a bright red handprint across his face, painfully obvious.

These eleven were none other than Xue Beng and his gang of spoiled friends.

The swelling on their faces had gone down, but the red slap marks were unbelievably stubborn and refused to fade, no matter how many healing spirit masters they had tried.

To make matters worse, several of them had lost teeth, so every time they spoke, air whistled out of their mouths.

Even healing spirit masters couldn't regrow their teeth; they'd have to get false ones later.

Xue Beng hadn't wanted to come to the academy at all, but his uncle, Prince Xue Xing, had forced him.

Along the way, they'd been pointed at and laughed at by everyone. Their humiliation had built up to a boiling point.

Now, seeing a group of plainly dressed country bumpkins approaching the academy gates, Xue Beng immediately lost his temper. Perfect timing to vent.

When Ma Hongjun saw those bright red palm prints, he couldn't help but snort with laughter.

Xue Beng's eyes instantly locked onto the fat man. That laugh pierced his ears like a blade, igniting all the rage he'd been bottling up.

"Get them!" Xue Beng roared viciously.

A bunch of hicks—beat first, talk later.

His gang, still simmering with pent-up frustration from last night's beating, eagerly complied. They usually bullied others, but after being pummeled into despair yesterday, their anger had been suffocating them.

Now that someone had volunteered to be their punching bag, there was no way they'd hold back.

All eleven of them released their martial spirits—each one a Da Hun Shi (Soul Grandmaster), none having reached the Soul Elder rank.

"Together!" Xue Beng shouted, charging at the Shrek group first.

Dai Mubai sneered. "A bunch of Soul Grandmasters? Looking for death."

In a flash, he appeared before Xue Beng and delivered a fierce kick straight to his chest.

Xue Beng let out a miserable scream as he was sent flying backward.

Dai Mubai immediately released his martial spirit, three soul rings—two yellow, one purple—spinning around him. The surge of power shocked the attackers into complete confusion.

He didn't stop there. True to his philosophy of hit first, talk later, Dai Mubai's figure flickered again, and several more screams followed.

The rest of the young men snapped out of their daze, panic flooding their faces as they scrambled to retreat.

They hadn't expected that among these rustic-looking people was a Soul Elder—one so vicious and overwhelming at that.

They were used to bullying the weak, but against a Soul Elder, they instantly wilted.

Dai Mubai wanted to chase them down and beat them until they cried for their mothers, but Flender stopped him.

"Mubai, that's enough," Flender called out.

Dai Mubai halted, gave a cold snort, and said, "Bunch of trash." Then he walked back calmly.

Flender stopped him not out of mercy, but because this was Royal Academy territory. These young men could be connected to the academy somehow, and causing a big scene wouldn't be wise.

The young men quickly retreated and helped Xue Beng up.

A deep footprint was visible on Xue Beng's chest. Dai Mubai's kick had nearly knocked him unconscious.

Fury burned through him like wildfire.

Especially after hearing Dai Mubai call them "trash"—that scorn, that arrogance—it was unbearable.

"You dare fight back!? Do you even know who I am!?" Xue Beng bellowed.

"I don't care who you are. People like you are just born to be beaten," Dai Mubai said coldly, arms crossed.

Flender motioned for Dai Mubai to hold his tongue, smiling as he asked, "You're students of the Royal Academy, right?"

"That's right! You dare trespass on Royal Academy grounds—you're dead!" one of the young men snarled.

At that, the Grandmaster stepped forward, smiling kindly. "A misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding. We're all on the same side. We're from Shrek Academy—here at your Royal Academy's invitation for an academic exchange. That fight just now was all a misunderstanding. I'm a teacher from Shrek Academy and I apologize."

He gave a polite bow.

Then he raised his head and continued, "Would you please inform Qin Ming that the Shrek Academy delegation has arrived?"

Xue Beng froze, as did his companions.
