Chapter 297 - Naruto: I am Uchiha Fugaku [297]

"The pure Byakugan is already in my possession. All that's left is Toneri Ōtsutsuki's kekkei genkai—only then can the Tenseigan be awakened. But aside from the space-time portal, is there truly no other way to reach the moon? "

Uchiha Fugaku stared at the reflection in the mirror—those pure, unblemished Byakugan eyes staring back at him.

The space-time portal had closed, cutting off his path to the moon. Without access, he couldn't confront Toneri Ōtsutsuki, nor seize his kekkei genkai. And without Toneri's kekkei genkai, the Tenseigan was unattainable.

The key now was simple but daunting: how to reach the moon.

He had already dispatched a spore clone to keep watch over the sealed portal, but it showed no sign of opening again. Passing through it was all but impossible.

"If I can't use the portal… am I supposed to fly there? " Fugaku muttered in frustration.

This world's science was strange. It had reached cloning technology, and yet—there was no rocket technology capable of sending a man to the moon.

But then, a spark lit up in Fugaku's mind. His eyes widened.

If not through the portal, then by flight. The thought was outrageous, absurd even—but not entirely impossible.

This world didn't have rockets, but it did have ninjutsu that defied all common sense.

Flight wasn't impossible. His Complete Susanoo was capable of it.

Of course, the idea wasn't without obstacles. Two, in particular:

Energy consumption. Susanoo required both chakra and ocular power. The distance between the Earth and the moon was astronomical. Flying there would take enormous amounts of both.

The void of space. Between Earth and the moon stretched a vacuum—no air, no oxygen. Crossing that meant facing suffocation.

Fugaku tapped his chin, deep in thought.

"I already have tailed-beast-level chakra, plus the Yin Seal as backup. Chakra shouldn't be the issue. The real problem is ocular power."

Even with his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, he doubted his eyes alone could fuel such a journey.

Then, inspiration struck.

The Yin Seal. An Uzumaki sealing technique designed to store chakra for later use. But in truth, it could store any energy similar in nature to chakra—including ocular power.

"Susanoo is fueled by a fixed ratio of ocular power and chakra. If I seal both in that ratio inside the Yin Seal, I can store not only chakra but also ocular power."

With his Sharingan's natural reserves and the Yin Seal's ability to store more, even his massive demands could be met.

The drawback? That stored energy could only be used for Susanoo, nothing else.

But for a trip to the moon, Susanoo was all he needed.

The first obstacle was solved. Now, the second.

"Susanoo is massive, over a hundred meters tall, and fully enclosed. The air it traps should be enough to get me through the vacuum."

It was far easier than the first issue. A construct that large would naturally hold enough oxygen for a sustained journey.

The more he thought, the more excited he became.

Flying to the moon wasn't impossible. In theory, he could do it.

But he sobered.

"The journey won't be without risk."

If his estimates were off, if chakra or ocular power ran dry in the void, he'd plummet like a meteor.

If air ran out, he'd suffocate. Unlike the Ōtsutsuki, his body hadn't evolved to survive in a vacuum.

"I'll need to stockpile as much chakra and ocular power as possible. The Yin Seal must remain fully charged."

At full capacity, the Yin Seal could hold nearly three times his current chakra—and his chakra was already tailed-beast level. Its capacity was staggering.

"As for oxygen… with current technology, compressed air in canisters should be doable. Breathing devices can be made."

It wasn't difficult. Ninja society simply had no demand for such tools. As clan head, he had the authority to order Konoha's tech division to develop them.

Days later, after issuing commands through his clones, Fugaku left his underground chamber and returned home.

"Father! "Little Ruri rushed up, tiny hands outstretched.

Smiling, Fugaku scooped her up, carrying her to the kitchen where his wife, Mikoto, in an apron, prepared dinner. Despite servants in the household, Mikoto preferred to cook herself.

"Welcome back," she said warmly, her long skirt swaying with her graceful figure—untouched by motherhood, still strikingly beautiful.

Leaving her to her work, Fugaku stepped into the courtyard, where Sasuke trained diligently at the Flying Thunder God technique. Beside him stood Dei Iwashi, one of the Fourth Hokage's former guards. Though not a master, he was capable enough to guide Sasuke's first steps.

Dei bowed gratefully, still indebted to Fugaku for exposing Hiruzen's mistreatment of Naruto. Fugaku waved him off, gaze softening at Sasuke's dedication.

Over the following weeks, preparations consumed him.

He drained his Yin Seal, then carefully refilled it with chakra and ocular power in precise ratios. He ordered the development of breathing devices. He stocked food in sealing scrolls—he would not arrive on the moon only to scavenge for sustenance.

Half a month later, under a clear night sky, everything was ready. A clone would play his role in the village, while Fugaku himself slipped away.

He stood beneath the silver crescent moon. His destination.

"Tonight, I fly to the moon."

"Complete Susanoo! "

A towering armored giant, wings unfurling wide, rose into the night.

The massive construct generated a powerful thrust, lifting them skyward. Clouds tore apart beneath his ascent, then sealed over again. Below, the ninja world shrank to a map at his feet.

Even with tailed-beast chakra, the strain was immense. His energy reserves dwindled by half—then near to nothing.

"Release—Yin Seal! "

Black markings spread from the diamond seal on his forehead, flooding Susanoo with a torrent of chakra and ocular power. The fading giant stabilized, renewed.

He rose higher. Gravity weakened. Air thinned. Then—disappeared. His body floated within the Susanoo as stars glittered around him.

Asteroids drifted, small as fists or vast as mountains, suspended in the void.

"I've entered the vacuum between Earth and the moon."

And there it was—the moon, swelling in his vision, drawing ever closer.

Fugaku narrowed his eyes, wings of his Susanoo beating. He surged forward, piercing the silence of space, racing toward his destiny.
