Cindralis stared at Asher's back as he walked out, her gaze lingering longer than necessary as though trying to decipher something hidden within the quiet rhythm of his departing steps, then she glanced at his finger, where the teleportation ring she had given him was supposed to be, but it wasn't there.
She herself had completely forgotten about the teleportation ring since she didn't care about it in the slightest, and to her it was nothing more than a minor artifact of her own creation, a trivial convenience item which she routinely handed out to every Instructor without a second thought or any real attachment.
'It seems he really doesn't trust me,' she thought to herself as she crossed one leg over the other with slow, deliberate elegance, but she didn't blame him in the least, because if she were in Asher's situation, placed within the same circumstances and surrounded by the same uncertainties, she would undoubtedly do the exact same thing without hesitation.
