Finch immediately froze in place. He cursed under his breath as he didn't even know when those words had slipped out of his mouth. He had simply been too excited. But he had to defend himself, and because of that, he immediately threw William under the bus.
"Don't look at me. William was the one who started it," Finch immediately said as he pointed at William.
At those words, Asher's eyes shifted toward William as though he was about to murder the guy on the spot.
William wasn't about to sit there and let the blame be passed onto him like a relay baton. He immediately shot to his feet as he spoke.
"Hey, don't drag me into this. I didn't even say anything. You were the one who just accused him of swinging the other way, not me," he defended himself immediately.
Hearing William's words, Asher's purple eyes shifted back toward Finch, since he was indeed the one who had brought it up.
