Chapter 334 Divinely Gifted Spirit, Wind God's Eye!

"You are... His Majesty Mo Hui?"

Su Yuntao stared blankly at the person before him, somewhat unable to believe that he would encounter such a powerful figure in his lifetime.

Su Yuntao sighed and said, "Yes, it's been almost six years since we last parted. Among the children I awakened, your achievements are the highest, far exceeding my expectations."

Speaking of this, Su Yuntao sighed. The child whose Spirit he had awakened had now grown into someone he needed to look up to—not only founding the Storm Pavilion but also recently becoming the Grand Judge of the Spirit Hall. Time is truly a wondrous thing.

"More than ten years have passed, and you're still awakening Spirits for these children. Have you considered changing jobs?" Mo Hui asked Su Yuntao.

Mo Hui was actually very grateful to Su Yuntao, for it was Su Yuntao who awakened his Spirit, leading him onto the path of a Spirit Master.

Upon hearing Mo Hui's words, Su Yuntao paused slightly, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "I've considered changing jobs before, after all, awakening a child's Spirit is really exhausting."

The area Su Yuntao was responsible for consisted mostly of scattered small villages, far apart from each other. Sometimes, after awakening one village, he had to travel for several hours, crossing mountains and valleys, to reach the next village.

And with such arduous work, what was the probability of an ordinary person having innate Spirit power after awakening their Spirit?

Less than one percent!

Furthermore, among those who possessed innate Spirit power, the vast majority had very low levels—level 1, 2, or even 0.5—with very few possessing level 3 innate Spirit power.

This was evident from the number of work-study students at Notting Academy. Notting Academy reserved one work-study spot for each village every year, but they still often couldn't find enough.

This kind of work, with its severely disproportionate input and output, might have some appeal from the two great empires of Heaven Dou and Star Luo after seeing the success of the Spirit Hall, but the enfeoffed minor lords would absolutely not do it.

It's important to understand that Spirit awakening requires guidance from a Spirit Master, and at least a Grand Spirit Master. This is because Spirit Masters have limited Spirit power; guiding just one or two Spirit awakenings quickly depletes their own, making large-scale awakenings impossible.

What does a Grand Spirit Master represent on the Douluo Continent?

They're incredibly rare, perhaps one in a thousand, if not one in ten thousand.

They can become teachers at elementary Spirit Master Academies, easily rise to centurion or chiliarch in the army, and live comfortably almost anywhere.

While not quite reaching the level of a Spirit Elder or Spirit Sect who directly becomes the ruling class, they are still among the elite.

Asking such individuals to painstakingly travel through mountains and valleys every year to help rural children awaken their Spirits is like expecting high-ranking corporate executives or bosses earning millions annually to personally dedicate themselves to poverty alleviation in remote villages for decades.

Just imagining it is impossible; only a powerful force like the Spirit Hall has the capability and prestige to implement such a plan.

"But I don't know why, whenever I see a child awaken their innate Spirit power and see their happy expression, I feel less resistant."

Immediately, Su Yuntao scratched his head and said, "Anyway, my talent is limited, and I probably won't be able to break through to Spirit Elder in this lifetime. There's no hope of advancing to Yellow-Robed Deacon either. I might as well continue to awaken the Spirits of these village children; it's a way of accumulating good karma."

The positions in the Spirit Hall are divided into seven levels from lowest to highest: White-Robed Deacon, Yellow-Robed Deacon, Purple-Robed Bishop, Red-Robed Bishop, Platinum Bishop, Elder/Honored One, and Pope.

Su Yuntao's position is the lowest, White-Robed Deacon, with general levels ranging from Great Soul Masters in their twenties to Spirit Elders in their thirties.

The higher-ranking Yellow-Robed Deacon is mainly for Spirit Elders; unless one makes a great contribution, it's impossible to advance beyond that level.

This is one of the main reasons why Su Yuntao, now over forty, can only hold the lowest-ranking White-Robed Deacon position.

However, after hearing Su Yuntao's answer, Mo Hui remained silent for a moment before speaking, "If I promoted you and put you in charge of recruiting talents across the continent, would you be willing?"

Upon hearing this, Su Yuntao's eyes lit up at first, but then dimmed again. He said with a hint of self-deprecation, "I'd rather not. My judgment seems to be poor; I always misjudge people."

First Mo Hui, then Tang San—this immediately made Su Yuntao doubt his ability to judge character. Although he was eager for the job Mo Hui offered, Su Yuntao was even more afraid that his mistake would cause a gem to be overlooked.

"This matter is actually easy to resolve," Mo Hui said with a slight smile.

He raised his right hand and gently touched Su Yuntao's brow with his finger, instantly transmitting a wisp of Wind God's power into his body.

In an instant, Su Yuntao felt a dramatic change in his body. A deep cyan energy continuously flowed within him, ultimately converging on his eyes.

Suddenly, Su Yuntao's eyes emitted a rich azure light, and two Spirit rings, one white and one yellow, appeared around him. His bottleneck, which had suppressed him for years, was broken through, and he reached level thirty!

Immediately afterward, the two Spirit rings around him changed. Their colors deepened, and soon the white ten-year Spirit ring transformed into a yellow hundred-year Spirit ring, while the second Spirit ring changed from pale yellow to deep yellow.

When the light in his eyes faded, Su Yuntao looked at his body in disbelief. He found himself considerably younger, radiating vitality. Most importantly, his Spirit power had leaped to level thirty; with just one more Spirit ring, he could become the Spirit Elder he had always dreamed of.

"I've replaced your original Spirit, and your current Spirit can perhaps be called: Wind God's Eye!"

Mo Hui looked at Su Yuntao before him and smiled, "The Wind God's Eye possesses the ability to see through the essence of things, so no matter what kind of genius you encounter in the future, you won't miss anything."

The Wind God's Eye was an original, divinely bestowed Spirit that Mo Hui created after becoming the Wind God. Its essence was the sharp gaze of the Pidgey after multiple advancements, only extracted and made into a separate Spirit.

Then, Mo Hui continued, "Well? Do you still have any reason to refuse now?"

Hearing Mo Hui's words, Su Yuntao also recovered from his shock. Looking at Mo Hui, who had transformed him, he immediately knelt on one knee and said, "I am honored by the Grand Judge's high regard. Yuntao is willing to serve the Grand Judge with utmost loyalty!"
