Chapter 74 - 74: Progress

"Are... you angry for me, Yusuke-kun?" Akeno blinked, the sadness and melancholy that lingered from recalling the past quickly giving way to astonishment at Yusuke's sudden emotional outburst.

All along, Yusuke had given her and everyone else the impression that he did not care for either her or Rias, and that he never truly took them seriously. To them, it seemed he was only indulging their fantasies because he considered them troublesome.

She never imagined that she held such weight in his heart, and this realization caused her own heart to flutter with happiness!

She clung to Yusuke and cried tears of joy, "Yusuke-kun is so cute! I love you! I love you so much! Hyaaa! My heart is racing so fast! I am falling in love all over again! What should I do? What should I do? At this rate, I will lose my mind! I love you! I love you! I love you so much!!"

The storage room stopped shaking. Yusuke stared at the squealing onee-san in his arms, and tightening his embrace around her, he replied, "You are my Onee-san, my woman. How could I possibly not care about your past?"

He may not have completely opened up to them, but whether it was Akeno, Rias, or Koneko, each of them held a place in his heart. In fact, because of his life experiences, anyone who showed him sincere love would earn his affection. Of course, this mostly applied to women.

Though the reason he hadn't had sex with them yet was that he wanted to use it to raise their submission value.

"The Himejima clan. I'll make them pay. I am going to fucking do it right now," Yusuke growled, his voice dark. He did not care that the Himejima clan persecuted Akeno out of fear of punishment from the Japanese gods or fear of tarnishing their reputation. None of that mattered to him. All he knew was that those people had killed Akeno's mother, had caused her so much misery, and had tried to kill her more than once.

He was going to Yun Che them all.

"No, don't!" Akeno felt butterflies fluttering in her stomach, from delight, but she stopped him immediately. "I know that Yusuke-kun is very strong, but the Himejima clan has existed for a long time. They have many powerful people and the protection of the Gods. It is very dangerous. Besides, I want nothing to do with them."

Staring at his darkening face, Akeno pleaded, "So please, for my sake, don't do anything reckless, okay?"

"...Alright, I won't. Since you, the person most involved, do not want me to, then I won't do anything," Yusuke let out a long, deep breath before speaking in a helpless tone.

He asked another question, "So, you hate your father because he did not come in time to save your mom?"

"Hmm," Akeno hummed softly, her eyes glinting with both sadness and hatred. She spoke, "I hate that man. If it weren't for him, Mom wouldn't have died, and I wouldn't have had to suffer!"

"When my mother and I needed him the most, he wasn't there!"

[He went to buy milk, perhaps?] The system chuckled.

Yusuke silently listened as she vented, her tangled emotions spilling out. He caressed her soft hair, running his fingers through it. After a while, Akeno stopped speaking, resting her head against his chest and enjoying his touch. When he felt the moment was right, he asked softly, "Do you really hate your father? Are you sure deep down you do not want to see him?"

From what he heard, although he had thought that her father was careless for leaving them at that moment, it seemed from what Akeno said that he cared for them deeply and also loved her and her mother.

"I... I... hate him!" Akeno's eyes snapped open. The words she had assumed were obvious trembled on her lips before she finally spoke them.

"Well, if you say so, but have you ever thought that you have been through the pain of losing your mother, yet he has felt even more? After all, he had not only lost his wife, but also his daughter," Yusuke said, touching her gently and speaking in a soft voice, careful not to upset her.

"..." Akeno closed her eyes, her body trembling faintly, but she did not respond.

"Although your past was very painful, listening to your story, I actually envy you," Yusuke said suddenly, his tone calm.

"Yusuke-kun..." Akeno felt a sharp pain at his words, as if she could sense his loneliness and suffering in that moment.

She remembered his past. Yusuke may not have experienced any life-threatening situations when he was young, but he had grown up completely without receiving any love his whole life, not even from his parents. Just imagining how he had grown in that environment made her heart clench tightly.

[Akeno Himejima's submission + 1!]

[Akeno Himejima's submission: 61 (Dependent)]

...

"Haa!"

Bang!

Holding her dark purple sword, Murayama let out a sharp cry and rushed forward, slashing her sword downward. Her blade cut through her opponent's body, but in the next moment, the man's figure vanished. It was only an afterimage.

"Take this! My fire pillar is going to penetrate you from behind!" When the man appeared once again, Aika shouted, and a column of pink fire burst from her mouth, shooting straight toward the man's back.

Yusuke's face darkened. He turned calmly to face the fire, and with a single slap of his hand, the fire pillar was sent flying. His figure blurred, and he appeared in front of Aika, knocking her head, "What the fuck do you mean by that?!"

"Ahn~! Hit me more, Yu-sama!" Aika fell to the ground on her butt. Instead of holding her head, she clenched her thighs and moaned in a shamelessly perverted way.

"..." Yusuke.

BOOM

Another red pillar of fire suddenly shot from Yusuke's left. He had already sensed it beforehand, and with light, precise steps, he dodged effortlessly. The fire slammed into the spot he had just occupied, carving a huge pit into the ground.

"You won't escape this!"

The moment he landed, a massive ball of orange fire hurtled toward him. It was less than a meter away, but just like the previous attacks, Yusuke moved with unbelievable speed, evading it as if it were standing still.

Murayama followed up with a flurry of sword strikes. She tried desperately to keep up, but all she could manage was to slash at his shadow.

"Huff! Huff! Yu-sama's speed is unfair! It's almost impossible to land a hit on you!" Aika stood up, breathing heavily. Gritting her teeth, she joined hands with Murayama and the other two fallen angels.

After Raynare and Kalawarna's devotion reached the Devoted level, Yusuke granted them his skills. The two chose Fire Dragon Slayer Magic.

Both were aggressive by nature, believing that the best defense is a strong offense, so it was no surprise they picked this skill.

Yusuke also gained a skill from each of them: Light Power and Hand-to-Hand Combat. They had many minor abilities besides their main skills, but these two were the only ones truly useful.

Sona also reached the Devoted level. Yusuke granted her Light Power while taking her Water Affinity, which gave him extraordinary control over all water-based spells.

Her reason for acquiring Light Power was to reduce her vulnerability to light-based attacks and to have an edge against other devils and dark creatures in the future, like Vampires.

Outside the training area, Sona and Tsubaki watched their session. The former spoke, "Yusuke-kun is really amazing. He is like an all-around warrior, with almost no weak points!" No matter how many times she saw him fighting, it never ceased to amaze her.

"He has tremendous magic, a strong body, and astonishing speed," Tsubaki said in admiration. "If Yusuke were a devil and were to join the rating games, he would be a one-man army. Just by himself, he could take on any peerage alone."

"Indeed, he is a nightmare for any team. He doesn't fall into the wizard type or power type, and technique types can't touch him either," Sona agreed.

The rating games classified participants by type. Wizard type was for people who used magic as their main attacks. Power type was for people whose attacks had extremely high destructive power.

Technique type was for those who refined their skills to the peak, such as swordsmanship, hand-to-hand combat, or counter techniques like Tsubaki's Mirror Alice.

On top of that, Yusuke also had healing skills, attack skills, and investigation skills, covering nearly all his weaknesses. If he had any slight flaw, it would be a minor lack of technique, but he was actively working to improve it.

"I give up!" About ten minutes later, Raynare collapsed to the ground, limbs spread out, sweat dripping from her body. She breathed heavily, causing her large breasts to bounce enticingly.

"Me too, I ran out of magic!" Aika also sank to the ground, looking completely spent.

Kalawarna sat down silently. The only one still standing was Murayama, but even her hands were trembling.

"Alright, let's stop for today then," Yusuke said, clapping his hands. He was satisfied with their progress, especially the improvements made by Aika and Murayama.

A month ago, with Sona's help, the villa had been completely renovated. It was no longer fitting to call it a villa. It had been transformed into an eight-story building with six underground floors, the lowest of which was specially designed as a large training ground.

Yusuke and the others had been training here almost every day. This was to increase Aika and Murayama's experience and help them master their new skills. Raynare and Kalawarna joined later after acquiring Fire Dragon Slayer Magic.

Another thing worth noting is that both Murayama and Aika had joined Sona's peerage.

Tsubaki, Sona, Murayama, and Aika shared a very close relationship. This was especially true for Aika, who had learned that Tsubaki and Sona had tried to save her when she was kidnapped. After many 'bonding' sessions each night, their connection grew even stronger.

The two joined willingly after Sona proposed the idea. Murayama became a knight, and Aika became a pawn using three pawn pieces. She would have been more fitting as a bishop, but those pieces had already been used to reincarnate Reya Kusaka and Momo Hanakai.

Yusuke didn't comment on this. They may have been his women, but each of them had the freedom to choose what they wanted.

Looking at his status window, Yusuke felt very satisfied with his progress over the past month.

By diligently training his skills, he had been able to raise many of them by one or two levels over the past month.

As any gamer knows, it is easier to level up skills when they are still low-level. Instead of wasting skill points, it was better to improve them through his own effort. This also helped him get used to the skills, and since this was a peaceful time, he had no urgent need to spend skill points to raise them.

The two skills he had spent most of his time training were Observation Haki and Fire Dragon Slayer Magic, since they were his main abilities.

He was also very curious about Rias's Demonic Power, called Power of Destruction. Too bad her submission was still too low, so he couldn't acquire it yet.

"Yusuke!" Just as he was thinking about her, the busty redhead suddenly entered the training room, waving at him in a very cheerful and excited manner.

She was in such a good and bright mood that she didn't even bother glaring at the other girls present like she usually did. That was because today, she was going on a date with Yusuke!
