The transformation of the little Spider-Man was shocking beyond words.
From the outside, the creature Nathan had once seen as fierce and dangerous had now completely changed its form. Long, soft ears sprouted from its head, their tips fading into a delicate shade of pink. The base of the fur was snowy white, marked with strokes of black, and its small limbs were tipped with faintly pink claws. The entire body had become round and plump, so much so that it looked almost like a stuffed toy rather than a battle-hardened familiar.
Its large eyes gleamed like pink amber gemstones—clear, flawless, and shining with a hint of innocent foolishness. It should have been terrifying; it should have radiated menace. But instead, the new form was… cute. Unbearably cute.
Nathan blinked in disbelief. "Wait… didn't it become a demon? Shouldn't it be more frightening or more alluring? Why… why did it turn into something even cuter?"
Despite its adorable appearance, Nathan immediately noticed that the aura around the creature had changed. The coercion it now carried was overwhelming, pressing down on the room like an invisible storm. It was strangely similar to the terrifying aura Dormammu himself radiated—though lighter, less suffocating.
Nathan muttered under his breath, analyzing what he sensed. "So that's it… this little Spider-Man integrated the essence of demon power. That explains the Dormammu-like aura. Could it be that it has now achieved a high-level demonic personality, comparable to Dormammu's own standing?"
While Nathan thought this over, something else happened. Across the room, the duplication of Dormammu was forming. The darkness thickened, shaping itself into a grotesque eyeball of cosmic proportions, brimming with dreadful malice. Nathan's expression hardened as he realized time was running short.
The little Spider-Man didn't hesitate. Its small, pink-clawed feet moved in the air, weaving symbols, while its mouth released obscure chants. The sounds were strange and otherworldly—like whispers drifting down from beyond the stars. As the incantation continued, tendrils of demonic power unfurled from its round body, spiraling outward into a glowing circle of symbols.
Nathan's eyes widened. He knew this spell. "It's attempting the ancient secret technique—stealing the sky and changing the sun. It's trying to conceal the transaction of power from Dormammu himself."
Sapphire lay nearby, slumped on the operating table. Her body was weak after the severed contract with the beast, and she had already been close to collapse. When she lifted her gaze and saw the little Spider-Man floating mid-air, performing secret techniques with practiced precision, her lips parted in stunned disbelief.
"Sealed… sealed in a spider's body… and yet this spider can release an advanced secret technique?"
Her heart sank. She had always believed the creature to be nothing more than a pet—an ordinary arachnid touched by strange energy. But watching it now, weaving incantations with the ease of a master, she realized how utterly wrong she had been.
"This… this means its intelligence was never ordinary. It's comparable to a human's, maybe even the genius level of the most extraordinary beings…"
Sapphire's eyes darted to Nathan. If this spider was this miraculous, then what kind of man was the one standing calmly beside it?
The beast had told her Nathan was just an ordinary human. Not a god. Not a demon. Not even a sorcerer. Yet what she saw contradicted every word of that claim.
Could an ordinary human terrify primordial demons into despair? Could an ordinary man make the stars themselves surge with power in only a few days? Could pets belonging to a mere human possess such intelligence and power?
Her heart whispered an answer she didn't dare say aloud: This is not a human. This is the reincarnation of a god.
For the first time, Sapphire's eyes filled with a deep, instinctive fear—the fear of facing the unknown.
But Nathan wasn't paying her any attention. His gaze was locked on the dimensional rift forming in the air. The crack widened, spilling torrents of dark energy that devoured the room. Tables shattered, chairs collapsed, and the walls themselves splintered with jagged fissures. The laboratory looked ready to crumble into rubble.
The duplication of Dormammu grew sharper and more solid with every breath, feeding greedily on the escaping darkness. It was moments away from completing its form.
Nathan's fists clenched. His thoughts were sharp and focused: Hurry, little Spider-Man. Close the rift before it's too late.
Almost as if it had heard his plea, the creature let out the final syllable of its chant. An invisible wave exploded outward from its tiny body.
Rrrrrtttttt!
Like unseen giant hands, the power seized the edges of the rift and began to force them closed. The torrent of darkness slowed. The eyeball's growth faltered, its solidity diminishing. Bit by bit, the gap shrank from a wound in reality, to a mere line, and finally vanished completely.
Nathan exhaled with relief. The technique had not only sealed the rift but also reached deeper into the laws of reality, smoothing over the scars of the transaction. Dormammu would not detect what had happened here.
At the same time, the spell cut the duplication off from its source. The massive eyeball shuddered as the connection to Dormammu was severed. Its surface blurred, then began to collapse slightly.
But it did not vanish.
Instead, it shrank and solidified once more, becoming its own independent existence. Though weaker than Dormammu's true essence, it was still a formidable threat. A giant eyeball the size of a motorcycle hovered in mid-air, glowing like a miniature star-field contained within its depths.
The atmosphere grew heavy with suffocating pressure. The eyeball focused its gaze on Nathan, the little Spider-Man, and Sapphire. Its voice rumbled, distant and vast, like echoes through eternity.
"You… severed my link to the main body. Such extraordinary skill."
Its gaze lingered on the spider, and its tone turned sharp.
"You carry the aura of a primordial demon, yet your strength is pitifully weak. I sense something inside you—a demon of high standing, equal in rank to my true self… but frail. Strange… remarkable. I must examine this further. Let me tear you open and discover who slumbers within."
Then its gaze shifted, malice boiling like black flame. "But first, I must reclaim my debt. Only by sacrifice can I reforge my link to the main body."
Black light burst from its body. A colossal hand of shadow reached out from the void, stretching straight toward them.
Nathan's eyes narrowed, his stance bracing for combat. His voice was calm, yet firm as steel:
"Stop it. You will not be allowed to reconnect with Dormammu."
