Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: A Fireball Or Meteor

As she said that, a ball of fire appeared. It was truly small, just like a normal ball, but the two people were scared. The clock was ticking.

Time flowed slowly—one second, two seconds—until two minutes had passed. When the two people tried to attack her, she said, "Go!"

As if the fireball had a will of its own, it shot with incredible speed at the person in front of her. The other person, not having the courage to move, froze.

Here, the girl's back was facing Lucan, so he could only see her from behind. But when she fired the fireball, the man backed away, and the girl instantly moved two meters away from them. Now she was facing Lucan's direction, and he could see her clearly.

The fireball she fired was a 1st-circle spell. This meant she was a First-Circle Mage. Lucan had read in his books that a mage uses mana to channel spells, and there are nine levels of spells with nine tiers of mages.

The fireball did hit the thug, but it also looked like she was exhausted from just this one spell. A third person soon appeared from behind her.

He had come a few seconds ago, and the girl hadn't seen when he appeared, so now the third person grabbed her from behind. She tried to free herself but couldn't.

Lucan wanted to save her, but he waited. For Lucan, saving her was a necessity. If she was recruited by him, she would live with them in Elysian, and the mana problem for the water filter machine would be solved.

Because of this, Lucan had the resolve to save her. But she wasn't too scared or looked like a person who couldn't handle three people at once. It happened as he expected: she instantly cast a spell and fired at the person behind her. It was a lightning spell.

The lightning was too small, but for the person behind her, it was not. He got shocked by the lightning. But not letting the opportunity go to waste, the other person threw a stone at her.

She was handling herself, but the stone flew at a high speed and hit her head. She fell backward. Now the three people had their backs to Lucan.

Everything was happening slowly, but Lucan, who now had the chance, said in a voice that could be heard by them easily, "Hello, everyone. I want to see what you guys are doing with a girl."

Hearing this, the three men looked back and saw a handsome man who was younger than them, but they didn't care.

One of them said, "Hey, you! There isn't any show to watch, so just go and do your work and let us do ours."

"We will not kill you if you just go your own way," the other person said. The person who was hit by the fireball couldn't say anything.

The girl who had fallen looked through a small space and also saw Lucan. For a moment, she was shocked by his handsome face, all while having the thought, 'A prince came to save me. God, I just love this type of scene.'

Lucan acted as if he didn't hear them and looked through the space. There he saw the girl. Seeing her, he said, "Do you need any help? If you want, I can help you."

The girl's thoughts were interrupted, but the other three men looked at him, and the person who was hit by the fire said, "Who are you to save her or not? Are you a swordsman or a mage? You are not a hero, boy."

But Lucan didn't care a bit about their intimidation and, looking once more at the girl, he said, "Do you need help or not?"

Now hearing this, she couldn't control herself. Imagining the scene, she said, "Sir, please help me."

The other three people looked at her, thinking, 'What the hell is she saying? How can she be this two-faced?' But they couldn't care.

They knew what kind of girl she was, but the person who was trying to save her didn't know at all.

Lucan, after hearing her say that she needed help in a dark alley where there wasn't much light but they could see one another, slowly raised his hand.

A small fire formed at the tip of his hand. It was too small for others to see, but the mage girl could see it. If what she knew was true, then what Lucan was trying to do was a fireball spell, but it was too small, even more than her fireball, like the size of a nail.

But soon, as one of the three people took one step, the fireball grew bigger by 5 cm, then it became 10 cm. Slowly rising, it was 1 meter, then 2 meters.

The fire was growing. The light in the alley was getting brighter. Everyone's face looked red. The three people, the mage girl, and the person who was casting the spell.

There was also heat coming from the ball. Because the fireball was big, its heat was also more. Their sweat came and soon turned into fog. But the fireball was getting bigger.

In a second, it was a 5-meter-sized fireball.

It looked like it would soon be thrown onto them, but it just pulsed. The three men got scared.

One of them said, "Sir, we do not know who you are, but she is not a person to be saved, and from your face, I can also see that she is not at all related to you. Then why are you saving her?"

To this, Lucan, with the fireball at the tip of his hand, looked like a devil who just made a sun descend on this world. He said, "Why do you care if she is related to me or not? I just want to save her. Is that a problem?"

The three men got more scared. Not having the courage to move, they slowly backed away, not even looking at the mage girl. Even in a scared position, one of them said, "It doesn't even look like a fireball at all. It's a meteor made of fire. I thought that fireball was a 1st-circle spell, but this, this must be a 3rd or even 4th-circle spell."

The other one said, "We will handle this girl later, and for that, we need to at least have our lives. We need to run as fast as we can, or this person here will send this big ball at us."

Now they looked at the third person to say something like what they said, but when they looked, he was already running. He was hit by the fireball and lived, but if he got hit by this, then there would not be any ashes left at all.

He ran as fast as he could. He didn't look back at all. There was no thought of revenge. So the other two people ran like their lives depended on it.

In a few seconds, there was only Lucan and the mage girl left there. The way the mage girl looked at Lucan changed. She stood up, fixed her clothes, and walked toward Lucan, who was 15 steps away.

Lucan lowered his hand, and the fireball that was made just disappeared. It was like there was no fireball to begin with. The mage girl got more curious, but she was not in good condition. She just walked slowly. Meanwhile, Lucan saw his system screen.

[You have spent 20 LP for fireball]

[Using LP in a new, different way that you were to unlock in the future has happened]

[Because of this, you can now perform magic spells but at the cost of LP and CP]

[How to use CP differently is for you to think of]

[There is now a possibility for you to become a mage. If you were to become a mage, you will get a discount in performing spells even if they are of mass destruction or mass restoration]

[For getting the new way to use LP, you have obtained rewards: Book - 'How to Become a Mage' Parts 1 and 2]

This is what had happened. Everything that Lucan did, from flashing the fireball to its heat, was related to his system, and especially because of his land points. The name "Land Points" had the word "land" in it. That means whatever is on the land can be used—that is, fire, water, air, anything.

But what Lucan was worried about was the use of LP. First, he didn't have an unlimited supply of LP.

Second, the LP was now even more important if he also counted the magic spells he could do now. A good thing because of this was that now he could become a proper mage, but what Lucan needed to do was with the mage girl, who he didn't know, laying in front of him.

Her hands were reaching out to Lucan's foot, so she was getting his good wishes, but why?

Lucan lowered himself and helped the mage girl stand up. She first didn't stand up, but after trying more, she stood up. Now she was looking at Lucan's face, and Lucan was seeing her.

Lucan, having her stand straight, said, "What are you doing? Is there anything on my foot that needs to be cleaned?"

"No, sir. It was just a way for me to get my master," she said, looking at Lucan.

Lucan was first shocked for a moment, but soon he said to her, "I am a master, but of whom? I don't have any disciples at all."

"Yes, sir, you are my master. You are the master of this Kaela Rolan," Kaela said and now looked at Lucan like a puppy, hoping that Lucan would accept her, but Lucan was a bit different.

He said, "So, Kaela, you think I am a master and also yours, but there is also a saying that a master cannot have disciples at all if he wants. He also can't teach them if he wants to, or he just leaves them on their own. So if you don't want to have one of these, because I will not care a bit about you, but first, tell me why do you think that I am your master. What was in me that made you think that you want to be my disciple?"

Kaela placed her hand on her head and, tilting it a little, thought for a few seconds. Then she replied to Lucan, "Master, I want to be your disciple because you made a 1st-circle spell that much more powerful. I can't even do this. I am a 1st-circle mage, and I also have a mana pool bigger than all the other 1st-circle mages, but I can't advance to the 2nd circle, and I can't cast a spell with my full mind into it."

"So that is why you need to be my disciple? I displayed a 1st-circle spell with the power of a 3rd or 4th-circle spell, and you want to learn how I did that, also getting the tips on how to advance to the next circle, right?" Lucan said and looked at Kaela. She nodded her head up and down.

"I can do that, but what will I get? I mean, a master gets the fee or anything that a master wants, and the disciple gives it to them," Lucan said, and looking at Kaela, he looked like he was thinking.

Kaela instantly said to Lucan, "Master, I can give you my body if you want, but I don't have any money or artifacts at all. I am a poor girl. Even when you saved me, I was trying to get the money from them so I could help my family, but they flew away."

Hearing this, Lucan didn't even think for a moment and said to her, "I don't want your body at all. You can help me if you come with me to a state. First, I am a lord of a state called Elysian that was formerly known as Fineras. And if you want, you can also get your family to come with us, but now that I have accepted you as my disciple, I can't just let you live here, so I will take you with me."

There was a shock in Kaela's mind. She thought that her master would probably not be taking her with him, or how would she feed her family, but her master just solved it all.

She instantly hugged Lucan. Lucan couldn't shake her off. Fully hugging Lucan, she said in a very cute voice that everyone would fall for, "Thank you, Master. I will follow you for the rest of my life."
