On the way back to headquarters, Giotto crossed the borders of the Land of Ancestors and took the opportunity to rest for a while at Tenji's residence, where they shared a warm conversation before resuming the final journey to the main base.
The days passed with impeccable tactical serenity. With Kaien out of the way and Masanobu following each of his orders to the letter, Giotto began delving deeper into the workings of the underworld, which operated in a primitive manner on this continent. Taking advantage of the organization's resources and his prior knowledge, he began quietly extending his network of influence among the clandestine factions of other countries, establishing forward bases and strategic footholds.
Time was moving in favor of the Vongola Family. Giotto expanded the organization's coffers, remodeled the central headquarters, and considerably enlarged the underground complexes. He had always been passionate about hidden passageways and tunnels; in his previous life, that same underground architecture had saved his life and the lives of his people on more than one occasion.
For his part, Alaudi began laying the foundations of his own cutting-edge intelligence organization, operating autonomously but remaining loyal to the Sky, replicating the structure of the independent organization called CEDEF, which stands for Consulenza Esterna Della Famiglia, meaning "External Family Consultants" in Italian, which he possessed in the original world of Katekyō Hitman Reborn!.
With administrative responsibilities efficiently distributed among the strategists, Giotto enjoyed some breathing room that allowed him to focus fully on his physical conditioning and on perfecting his control over his Dying Will Flames. However, after Saruo's departure—who had been the only opponent capable of forcing him to fight with absolute seriousness because he attacked with the intent to hurt him—Giotto had to find a way to maintain his level of combat by training with his own Guardians. In those duels, Alaudi became his most relentless rival, as the Cloud showed not the slightest mercy when measuring strength against his leader.
And so the years of constant growth passed, until the wheel of time completed its turn and eight years came knocking at the door.
…
1044 B.N. — March 9
The months followed one another in an uninterrupted march—January, February, March, April, May, and June.—but unlike previous occasions, no Guardian manifested during that period. No change in the weather high above the sky brought with it a new summoning.
Only the low, thick mist that enveloped the Vongola base remained.
The arrival of Demon Spade, the Guardian of the Mist, was not exactly the most eagerly awaited event by the group. Spade was the last Guardian of the First Generation to be summoned, but also the most complex, the most cunning, and ultimately the most dangerous for the family. Everyone remembered the weight of his history in their previous life and the shadow he had cast over the future of the Family.
It was at the end of September, when the threshold between October and November brushed the mornings with a penetrating chill, that the phenomenon finally occurred. In the middle of a dense morning fog, the Mist Seed began to react while most of the base was still asleep.
Giotto was the only one of the high command who was awake, running through his physical training routine. With his sweaty skin glistening at eleven years of age, he watched as the Seed descended to an unusually low height, almost brushing the damp ground. Unlike the grand manifestations that had previously occurred before the entire leadership, this was a solitary summoning: the entire mantle of morning mist was absorbed by the artifact in a silent vortex.
The mist condensed until it molded the silhouette of a young man of about fourteen years old. As the vapor dissipated, there stood Demon Spade, sporting his characteristic purple hair styled elegantly and that refined yet enigmatic posture that had defined him in his previous life.
Spade fixed his eyes on Giotto and gave him a faint smile.
—Hello, Primo.
—Hello, Spade —Giotto replied, catching his breath.
—I have returned.
—Yes, you have returned... and I hope you have come with a better disposition than before —Giotto said with a serene gaze filled with meaning.
The silence between their gazes was laden with debt. One that favored Giotto.
—Let's go. We have to get to the base —the newcomer added.
—Okay.
When the Guardians and the Administrators woke up shortly afterward, the atmosphere in the main hall became extremely heavy. The presence of the Guardian of the Mist did not go unnoticed by anyone:
G: His pupils dilated from the instinctive shock; he clenched his fists while maintaining an immediately alert posture.
Alaudi: He maintained an impenetrable poker face, adjusting his collar with absolute coldness, although he was inwardly in a foul mood because of Spade's presence.
Ugetsu: He lost his usual serenity for a moment. His face reflected the weight of the past, bitterly remembering Spade's screwups and the cracks he had caused in Vongola history all the way to the Tenth Generation.
The Administrators and Haru: They noticed the density of the atmosphere. Haru, even without fully understanding the complex history between them, felt a chill and shared the group's frustration, sensing that the newcomer carried a dangerous burden with him.
Giotto stepped forward, assuming absolute leadership in order to dispel the tension in the room.
—Well, guys... All the Guardians of the First Generation are finally here, all of us together —Giotto declared in a firm yet reassuring voice—. We finally have the complete group. Now we only need to gather the rings and complete the missing pieces to complete the Tri-ni-sette, but from today onward, we can be more at ease.
He looked at each of his companions, meeting the gazes of G, Ugetsu, Alaudi, and Spade.
—Our responsibilities will be divided more effectively, and we will work more efficiently. Stay alert, everyone. We will do infinitely better than we did in our previous life.
G, the first to explode, stepped forward with his face twisted by indignation, his fists clenched with accumulated rage.
—Primo! —G shouted, his voice filled with frustration—. Why do you accept him!? That bastard betrayed us in our past life! He turned his back on us and caused our downfall... Why the hell should he be here among us!?
Giotto remained calm, patiently listening to his friend's outburst. Then, he shifted his eyes slightly toward the swordsman.
—What do you think, Ugetsu?
Ugetsu remained with his head lowered. His eyelids could be seen trembling over his closed eyes, trapped in an internal dilemma. He wanted to give G an affirmative answer and support his fury, but doubt held him back.
—I think the same as... Ah, I don't know —Ugetsu murmured, unable to make a definitive judgment.
Knuckle, for his part, could not fully accept the situation. His vocation as a man of faith and healer reminded him that forgiveness should always exist, but the weight of past wounds made him doubt whether they could truly recover their former brotherhood. Meanwhile, Alaudi remained in absolute silence, just like Lampo, observing the scene without intervening.
Giotto, after listening carefully to the feelings of his group, turned his gaze toward the Guardian of the Mist. His posture was clear: now defend yourself.
Demon Spade gave a slight smile, but upon noticing the seriousness on the faces around him, the smile gradually faded.
—I know very well what I did —Spade admitted in a low voice, looking at each of his former companions—. I know that I betrayed you in the past, and I also know the immense trouble I caused the Tenth Vongola Generation... I don't have enough words to apologize. I can only tell you that, thanks to the Tenth Boss, I reconsidered my actions before the end. This is a new chance at life for all of us, just as it is for me... and I intend to make the most of it.
Everyone in the room looked at him in absolute silence, their eyes narrowed with doubt.
Giotto nodded gravely and stepped forward, projecting an imposing presence.
—That's right. It is a second chance for everyone —Giotto declared, with a calculating golden gaze that made the room shudder—. And well, as all of you know... I am no longer the same kind-hearted Giotto from before. I highly doubt Spade will dare disobey me again or question my decisions regarding the future of the Vongola Family... right, Spade?
Spade did not respond immediately, but lowered his head, silently accepting the weight of the warning. He knew perfectly well that this new Giotto would not hesitate to act if he crossed the line, but he also understood that time and his future actions would prove the truth behind the words his leader had just spoken.
…
The Vongola Famiglia was growing at a dizzying pace. In almost every city and every country, there was at least one bar, casino, or betting center—whether legal or clandestine—controlled by a Vongola agent. The coffers were filling, and the underworld was beginning to operate under their rules: banks, finances, and clandestine agreements answered to their influence. The Vongola had become an empire in the shadows.
…
I gathered all the Guardians in the meeting room of the main headquarters to plan our next tactical move.
—Guys, today we will travel to the Fire Country —I announced, fixing my gaze on the map spread across the table—. Ugetsu, call our headquarters in the Fire Country and tell them to prepare Kiku for the transfer.
—Understood, Giotto —Ugetsu nodded, slightly lowering his head before stepping away for a moment to send the message through our fast-messaging networks.
—It will take us about four days to get there —I continued, assessing the terrain and border routes—. After that, I want every single one of us to be prepared. We are going to do many things there; we might even take over the kingdom. So we have to be ready.
I pointed directly at Demon Spade with one finger.
—Spade, are you ready? I think it's time to use your talents on this trip.
—Kufufu... Of course, Giotto. My illusions are more than ready to go unnoticed at any moment —Demon replied, adjusting his monocle with the enigmatic smile that characterized him.
We set the caravan in motion. During the four days of travel from our positions in the Land of Lomo toward the domains of the Fire Country, we advanced cautiously, using the false identities and cover that our underworld network provided us.
Upon arriving at our secret base on the border, Kiku was waiting for us, guarded by our men. The prisoner looked haggard, still coming to terms with his bad luck.
—Hello, Kiku —I greeted him in a calm but firm voice.
—Giotto... —Kike murmured, raising his gaze with resignation—. Is it time for me to see my brother?
—Yes... It's time for you to see your brother —I affirmed.
—What happened to Kaien and the monkey boy? —Kiku asked.
—Kaien is dead, and the monkey boy, Saruo, joined our ranks. So you have to do the same as Saruo and become part of us. Cooperate so that you can keep living; it's for your own good.
Kike let out a long sigh, lowered his shoulders, and nodded, surrendering to the evidence.
—All right, then... I won't resist.
With Kiku integrated into the group without putting up a fight, we advanced toward the royal palace of the Fire Country. As we approached, the architecture of the place became evident: a complex flanked by papango trees and structures of traditional Asian design that reflected the royalty of these times. Although they were small constructions compared to ancient modern fortresses—for the era did not forgive the lack of practicality and creativity in defensive architecture—they maintained an imposing and regal air.
We reached the main gates. The entrance guards' spears immediately crossed, blocking our path, but when they saw Kiku step forward, the soldiers' expressions changed completely.
—It's Prince Kiku! —one of the guards exclaimed, quickly lowering his weapon to let us pass.
Thanks to the prince's presence, we passed through the outer checkpoints and entered the main compound without raising suspicion or triggering any alarms. One of the servants ran frantically through the corridors until he reached the hall where King Kiko was examining his war maps.
—My lord! Your brother has returned! —the guard announced, falling to his knees.
—Has he returned? —Kiko abruptly stood up, crumpling the scrolls on his table—. He was supposed to be dead or kidnapped by those bandits called the Vongola...
—Yes, my lord, but he is here in the palace... and apparently, he has come accompanied by them.
Kiko clenched his fists, feeling his political calculations crumble in an instant.
—"Damn it! My plans to use his 'disappearance' as a pretext to mobilize troops!" —Kiko thought with restrained anger, though he quickly hardened his expression—. "It doesn't matter... No one will stop me from conquering more countries."
Walking through the marble and polished stone corridors of the royal palace of the Fire Country was an exercise in diplomacy across a minefield. At twelve years old, my physical body was that of a boy, but inside my chest vibrated the accumulated experience of Luciano Gravina and the composure of the First Vongola Boss. At my side walked the Guardians of the First Generation; the entire leadership of my family marched at my pace, projecting a shadow of authority that made the palace servants tremble until they realized that we were teenagers.
The leader of the Fire Country, after seeing his brother Kiku alive, had maintained his warlike intentions, fueled by his stubborn desire to unify the territory. However, Giotto confronted him directly. He laid out with absolute military and economic coldness everything he was about to lose if he decided to pull the trigger of war, and the sovereign understood it perfectly.
Behind us, rigidly guarded by G and Knuckle, walked Kiku. The prisoner, though not shackled, was weighed down by the burden of his own failure. Kiku had made the mistake of allying himself with Kaien's mercenary band in an attempt to undermine Vongola's hegemony. After Kaien's fall and the defense of the borders, keeping Kiku as a prisoner in our underground facilities no longer provided us with any strategic benefit. The time had come to return him and seal the most important geopolitical pact of the era.
At the palace's main entrance, Kiko's guard captains demanded the standard security protocol: complete disarmament. No foreign army or group was permitted to enter the sovereign's presence carrying steel.
G growled in frustration, but I raised a hand to stop him. In the world of the mafia and royal power, the rules of courtesy are respected for appearances, but survival demands that you never walk around unarmed.
I slightly turned my head and exchanged a glance with Demon Spade. The Guardian of the Mist gave that wide, calculating smile of his, adjusting his monocle. In an imperceptible blink, a subtle wave of Mist Flames spread throughout the vestibule. Demon executed a perfect optical and sensory illusion: the royal guards felt the physical weight of our weapons as they were placed inside the wooden chests, heard the clashing of metal, and saw us hand over bows, swords, and staffs. To the eyes of the world, the Vongola had entered unarmed. In reality, each of my Guardians kept their arsenal hidden within the illusory plane, ready to be deployed in a microsecond.
We reached the throne room. There, seated in an opulent wooden chair carved with reliefs of flames and gold, Kiko awaited us. His presence was dominant, a mature man consumed by a devouring ambition that was reflected in the gleam of his eyes.
—I bring you your brother, Kiko —I declared in a firm voice, breaking the silence of the hall without making a single bow.
Kiku fell to his knees on the royal carpet when G pushed him forward. Kiko observed his brother with barely concealed contempt. There was no brotherly love or compassion on his face; to a ruler of his lineage, a captured brother was simply a loose end or a weakness that had been overcome.
—Kiku... You are a disgrace to our blood for allowing yourself to be trampled by some children who call themselves a petty mercenary organization —Kiko declared coldly. Then, he turned his hawk-like eyes toward me—. I thank you for returning this waste to me, Giotto. But you made a fatal mistake by entering my palace.
A snap of his fingers echoed through the great hall. Instantly, dozens of archers and elite swordsmen emerged from the balconies and columns, aiming arrows and steel spears at us. The trap had been set. Kiko had no intention of negotiating; he wanted to carry out a purge so he could take over the Land of Lomo and gain more trade routes, our money, and the secrets of our organization without paying any price.
—"Poor man..." —I thought to myself, keeping my hands inside my pockets with absolute serenity—. "He believes the strength of an army is measured by the number of men and the steel of their spears."
—Do you really believe the Fire Country will be built by an idiot like you, Kiko? —I asked in a calm tone, allowing my Hyper-Intuition to assess every firing line of his soldiers.
—The Fire Country will become the greatest empire this continent has ever seen! —Kiko exclaimed, standing up and spreading his arms with delusions of grandeur—. One sovereign! One army! The feudal lords of the neighboring lands are weak, content with small parcels of land. I will unify all the provinces under my banner. I need gold, I need fortresses, and I need to eradicate anyone who could overshadow me. Your organization, Vongola, is a danger to my reign. If I eliminate you here and now, your coffers, your banks, and your networks will become property of the crown. You are nothing more than a stepping stone on my ascent to the top!
Kiko's ambition was not simple greed; it was an imperialist obsession with power. He dreamed of crushing the surrounding nations, convinced that his conventional military strength was invincible.
—You are blinded by your own position —I replied, taking a step forward as my posture became glacial—. My country has impenetrable natural defenses, our generals and soldiers will not hesitate to massacre your vanguard, and your economy will collapse in a full-scale war if you maintain a war of attrition. You will lose half of your men before crossing the first border. I am offering you an economic alliance and diplomacy... but you prefer bloodshed.
—Silence! Don't lecture me about war, boy! Guards, kill them all! —Kiko ordered, his voice hoarse from shouting.
Not a single soldier could take one step.
I clapped my hands. Beside me, the atmosphere of the hall distorted completely. Demon Spade twirled his illusionary scepter, and in an instant, the weapons the guards believed they had confiscated materialized in the hands of my Guardians.
Alaudi unleashed his metal handcuffs to destroy the pillars. The archers fell from the balconies; many died, while others were wounded. G drew his bow, aiming directly between Kiko's eyes with an arrow wrapped in red flames; and Ugetsu drew his swords with such deadly elegance that the king's personal guard did not even see when the blades cut their spears in half.
In less than three seconds, Kiko's entire leadership was disarmed, subdued, and paralyzed by an ancient terror. My Guardians demonstrated in the blink of an eye that we could eradicate his entire royal guard and decapitate his reign at that very moment.
I slowly walked toward the throne's stairs. Kiko's face, previously filled with arrogance, turned pale as paper. Cold beads of sweat ran down his forehead as he looked into the golden glow of his cold eyes.
—I could kill you right here, Kiko —Giotto said, looking at him from the base of the throne with the cold lucidity of Luciano Gravina—. Your palace would become your tomb, and your dreamed-of empire would crumble before it was even born. Now... tell me: are you going to keep playing at war, or are you going to listen to my conditions?
—As you can see, Kiko... we are not normal children —I declared, letting my voice resonate with a glacial authority that chilled the blood of the few guards who were still managing to remain standing—. You made the mistake of judging our worth by our appearance. But now reality is standing right in front of you.
I stopped just two steps from the throne, looking down at the man who intended to rule these lands with an iron fist.
—Starting today, the rules of the game change —I continued, marking each word with surgical precision—. You will work for us. In exchange, the Vongola Family will grant you its absolute military protection. We will help you in the war against your neighbors, crush the rebellious factions that threaten your borders, and provide you with the intelligence necessary for you to build your empire much faster than you ever dreamed possible. We will fulfill your ambition... but it will come at a price.
Kiko clenched his teeth, feeling how Ugetsu's cold steel reminded him of the fragility of his life.
—What price...? —he managed to articulate through his dry throat.
—You will be the public face. To the world, to the feudal lords of other countries, and to the people, you will continue to be the great King Kiko, the conqueror of the Fire Country —I explained, allowing a subtle and calculating smile to cross my face—. But in the shadows, the true head, the sole and absolute leader of all this, will be me. The Vongola will rule the Fire Country. And we will not stop here... not only the Fire Country, we will rule the entire world. You will be our visible shield, and we will be the invisible hand that pulls the strings of your decisions.
I paused briefly. The silence in the throne room was so dense that the dripping of sweat falling from Kiko's chin could be heard.
—So tell me, Kiko: are you going to stand with us... or will you die right here on your throne? I know your brother might work better with us.
Kiko was staring into the abyss. He knew death would be instantaneous if he refused; but if he accepted, he would gain the backing of monstrous beings capable of bringing entire kingdoms to their knees.
Kiko closed his eyes heavily. He let out a long, defeated sigh, feeling the weight of defeat crushing his arrogance.
—All right, boy... You win —he said in a whisper, surrendering completely.
Ugetsu withdrew his katana with impeccable fluidity and sheathed it with a soft click that echoed like a final sentence. The flame on my forehead went out, returning the warm tone to my eyes, although the cold determination remained intact.
—Excellent. I love doing business with reasonable people —I said, forming a slight diplomatic smile.
I gently turned and extended my hand toward the elegantly dressed man in the dark coat who stood to the side, observing the scene with his cold steel-blue eyes.
—Let me introduce you to Alaudi —I introduced him firmly—. He will help you greatly with political counsel, military restructuring, and the kingdom's intelligence. I want you to tell him absolutely everything: every secret of your kingdom, how it is administered, and the capacity of your coffers. He will be aware of how this country is run so that he can advise you properly and ensure that your actions benefit Vongola.
Alaudi stepped forward. His mere presence emanated an aura of severity and rigidity so overwhelming that Kiko seemed to shrink even further in his seat. The Guardian of the Cloud showed no smile; he simply fixed his analytical gaze upon the king.
—Well, Alaudi... I leave him in your hands —I said, giving my Guardian a slight nod.
—Understood, Giotto. I will make sure he understands perfectly what his place is in this new structure —Alaudi replied in his neutral, distant voice, keeping his hands clasped behind his back.
—We are leaving —I concluded, signaling to the rest of the Guardians.
G, Knuckle, Ugetsu, and Demon Spade turned around in unison. We left the throne room of the royal palace, leaving behind a subdued king and the Vongola Cloud ready to extend the intelligence network that would consolidate our first true territorial dominion in the shadows.
…
After establishing our influence in the palace of the Fire Country and consolidating Kiko's submission, we began the journey back toward our borders. With the Vongola network structure operating at full capacity and diplomacy under control, the journey progressed at a steady pace.
We reached the crossroads where the northern routes divided: one path led back toward the lands of the Land of Lomo, while the other ventured into the domains of the Land of Ancestors. Upon seeing the fork in the road, I stopped abruptly. A spark of memory crossed my mind; the figure of Tenji, the young emperor with whom I shared ideals and a vision of peace for this troubled world, immediately came to mind.
I turned toward my Guardians.
—Guys, you go on ahead —I said calmly, raising a hand to stop the group's advance.
G frowned, stopping his horse and looking at me with obvious suspicion and concern.
—Where are you going, Primo? —he asked, crossing his arms.
—I'm going to the Land of Ancestors —I replied with a slight smile—. I'm going to visit my friend Tenji.
—Ah, you're going there... —G nodded, relaxing his posture, but taking a step forward—. If that's the case, we can go with you. It's not wise for you to travel these roads alone.
I made a gesture with my arm to indicate no and gently shook my head.
—No, I'm going alone —I declared firmly—. This visit requires discretion. If anything happens, send me some agents there; that way we can stay in contact, and they will be able to help me with some things if I end up needing them.
G sighed, knowing that once I made a decision, it was impossible to change my mind.
—Of course, Primo. Count on it. Take care on the way.
We said goodbye with a nod. The Guardians, maintaining their formation, continued their march along the main road toward the Land of Lomo, while I took the winding path alone that led to Tenji's territory.

...
Frequently, Giotto visited Tenji. On each trip, the young man's gaze invariably drifted toward that colossal tree that stood in the distance. That pine or willow of biblical proportions—the God Tree—seemed to watch over the lands with a mystical and overwhelming presence that defied any logic of this world.
Throughout these periodic visits, the relationship between Giotto and Tenji transcended simple diplomacy between leaders. Each encounter at the imperial seat of the Land of Ancestors became a space for philosophical and political debate. While they shared hot tea beneath the wooden porches of the palace, King Tenji found in Giotto's maturity and composure an outlet for the overwhelming burdens of his crown. Giotto, for his part, appreciated Tenji's genuine pursuit of peace, a peaceful ruler trapped in an era of tyrants and bloody wars.
Their friendship began to solidify and grow by leaps and bounds. Both shared the unbreakable desire to protect the innocent and to build a territory where future generations would not have to grow up under the shadow of fear. However, in each of their conversations, the distant presence of the Sacred Tree remained as a silent witness, announcing that the fate of that kingdom was about to change forever.
…
1040 B.N. October 1
The years passed. At fifteen years old, Giotto was a tall young man for his age, with an imposing presence and a physique honed to its limit. The combination of his relentless training and mastery of the Dying Will Flames granted him an aura of natural sovereignty over the balance of the sky, although his gaze retained its usual warmth.
His mastery of the Sky Flame was at 53%. A great advancement now that he had more time for himself.
That night, the imperial palace of the Land of Ancestors resounded with the joy of a grand festival. Paper lanterns illuminated the wide wooden corridors, and the banquets overflowed with delicacies, roasted meat, and vessels of the finest sake in the region. Tenji, seated at the main table, laughed loudly, raising his ceramic cup with his face flushed from the liquor.
—Hahaha! Giotto, my friend! —Tenji exclaimed, letting out a loud laugh as he spilled a few drops of sake onto the table—. You have to drink more! I don't know how you manage to keep that solemn face in the middle of such a celebration. Today we celebrate the harvest and the peace of our borders!
—You know I'm not much of a fan of excess, Tenji —Giotto replied with a slight smile, taking a moderate sip from his cup. However, the festive atmosphere and the mild alcohol had begun to take effect; Giotto felt that slight heaviness in his head, a state of mild drunkenness that relaxed his shoulders without completely clouding his senses.
—Bah! Always so mature for fifteen! You look like an old man trapped in a young man's body —Tenji joked, laughing heartily again as his servants poured him more drink.
Suddenly, a sudden and piercing chill ran down Giotto's spine. It was not the cold of the night or the effect of the sake; it was his Hyper-Intuition screaming deep within his consciousness, accompanied by a strange and irresistible magnetic impulse that pulled at his chest. It was a premonition around the great colossal pine—that ancient tree visible on the horizon—that seemed to have changed in density.
Giotto stood up, slightly adjusting his robe.
—Tenji, excuse me for a moment. I'm going to the bathroom... I need to get some fresh air to clear my head —Giotto said, sketching a calm smile.
—Ha! I told you, the sake from the Land of Ancestors hits hard. Go, go, my friend, we'll be waiting for you for the last toast! —Tenji replied, waving his hand carelessly as he continued chatting animatedly with his ministers.
As soon as he left the banquet hall's perimeter, Giotto did not head toward the bathrooms. He followed the magnetic pull overwhelming his senses, moving with firm steps into the quiet and lush bamboo groves bordering the area near the colossal tree. The bamboo stalks swayed in the night wind, creaking softly beneath a starry sky.
Suddenly, the night sky fractured with a blinding radiance. A comet of pure light and silver luminescence tore through the darkness, plummeting downward at a terrifying speed. Giotto instinctively covered his eyes as the bamboo stalks around him shook violently from the shockwave. The light struck and descended gently into the heart of the bamboo grove, dissipating into a faint and ethereal glow.
Giotto crouched among the bamboo bushes, holding his breath as he slowly moved some leaves aside to observe the point of impact.
As the radiance dissipated, Giotto saw the figure.
She was a woman of serene yet alien beauty. Her skin was pale as alabaster, and she completely lacked traditional eyelashes and eyebrows; instead, two dark circles painted in the style of ancient nobility adorned her forehead. She had completely white eyes, devoid of visible pupils, which projected an empty and expressionless gaze. Her long, light-colored hair fell straight down, framing her face, and she wore a high-collared white robe of a sober and simple cut. She was Kaguya in her pure, earthly form before consuming the fruit of the Sacred Tree.
As he fixed his gaze on her face and that sober robe, an electrical shock thundered through Giotto's mind with the force of lightning. The image of that pristine skin, the majesty of the colossal tree in the distance, and the overwhelming energy emanating from her body caused all the loose pieces of his previous memory—from his life as Luciano Gravina—to suddenly fit together.
The blond boy who mastered spiritual energy, the existence of chakra, the war between clans, the Sacred Tree, and that extraterrestrial deity who would serve as the ancestral threat and final boss of a distant era... everything made sense in a millisecond of pure revelation.
The woman raised her completely white eyes toward the bamboo bushes, assessing the presence of the young Vongola with a curious and interested gaze.
Giotto, feeling the impact of the discovery freeze the air in his lungs and make every trace of drunkenness disappear instantly, took half a step back and whispered barely above a breath:
—I'm in the world of Naruto...
Giotto did not leap for joy upon realizing where he was. Although Naruto had been one of his favorite anime series in his previous life, his tactical mindset immediately warned him of the overwhelming danger this world would harbor in the future. Knowing the scale of power this era would reach completely disrupted his plans. Until a few moments ago, he had felt like the most powerful being on Earth with some degree of doubt; but with Kaguya Ōtsutsuki standing before his eyes, reality struck him head-on.
He was not the strongest. In her current state, Kaguya might not represent an invincible threat, but once she became the Jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails, history would change radically. Giotto swallowed silently, absorbing the storm that was approaching as he gazed upon the woman's imposing and captivating beauty.
...
Suddenly, Giotto's Hyper-Intuition activated: he sensed a group of Tenji's soldiers approaching the area. Reacting on instinct, he grabbed Kaguya's hand and gently pulled her toward the dense foliage.
—What are you doing? Why are you holding me? —Kaguya asked in surprise, but without resisting.
—I have to take you somewhere safe —Giotto whispered, leading her through the shadows.
The two hid inside the hollow trunk of a colossal tree while the patrol passed by. The physical proximity within the cramped space made the atmosphere dense and tense. Kaguya closely observed Giotto's face: his flawless skin, golden gaze, and majestic and pure presence; his aura was completely different from this world. For his part, the combination of Giotto's adolescent hormones and Kaguya's curiosity as a girl accelerated both of their heartbeats.
Amid the silence of their hiding place, their gazes met, and the impulse was inevitable. Luciano was a man who would not let such an opportunity pass, especially with such extraterrestrial beauty so close within such a confined space.
There was no doubt in their gazes, and they came together in a deep kiss inside the hollow tree. What had begun as an improvised refuge quickly escalated in intensity throughout the night.
The following morning, the rays of sunlight filtering through the branches awakened Giotto. He found himself exposed, without a shirt, just like Kaguya, who was peacefully resting beside him in the same condition.
At that precise moment, a crystalline echo resonated in his mind:
DING!
[HIDDEN ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED] Milestone: You have become intimate with the Moon Princess, Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the final threat of the Naruto world. Knowledge: Absolute confirmation of the current universe. Reward: Sky Flame Weapon Box — Sky Lion (Natsutsuna).
Giotto sat on the edge of the hollow trunk, running a hand through his messy hair. A whirlwind of sensations collided in his chest. His fifteen-year-old mind tried to process the moment, but the consciousness of his previous life as Luciano Gravina simply smiled with shameless pride. He had slept with Kaguya Ōtsutsuki, the very Rabbit Goddess herself. He had taken the innocence of the most dangerous entity in the Naruto universe.
At that moment, the System interface flashed once again with mechanical coldness before his eyes:
DING!
[HIDDEN MISSION REWARD]
Item Obtained: Sky Flame Weapon Box — Sky Lion (Natsutsuna).
[NEW CONTINUOUS MISSION: MYSTICAL BOND]
Objective: Maintain an intimate relationship with Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.
Execution Reward: Progressive increase in the control and purity of the Sky Flame (Current Mastery: 60%).
MANDATORY FATE RESTRICTION: The timeline must not collapse. Kaguya Ōtsutsuki MUST eventually become united with Tenji for the conception of the Chakra descendants.
Warning: Failure to comply with the timeline clause will result in the immediate dismantling of the System and the total revocation of your Vongola powers, or possible destruction of your existence due to a rupture in the fate of this universe.
…
Giotto swallowed hard. The System's floating interface revealed a brutal paradox: it granted him the key to perfecting his control over his Dying Will Flames at an absurd speed, but in exchange, it bound him to a deadly trap. He could not keep her permanently or drastically alter the course of fate if he intended to survive the coming era.
On a mental level, the contrast between his two lives generated a constant clash of opinions.
—"This is crazy..." —the consciousness of young Giotto, Lesuya Sawada, thought, feeling a mixture of guilt and confusion—. "She is going to become a goddess from the legends of my previous life in this world. We can't simply play with a force of this magnitude in the future. And if we interfere too much, we will alter the future completely."
—"Calm down, boy," —the mature and pragmatic voice of Luciano Gravina intervened from the depths of his thoughts, responding lightly—. "Gaining points and attributes this way is a golden opportunity. She is the very Rabbit Goddess herself. This mission is going to benefit us enormously by making us stronger."
—"But it's not right!" —Giotto's side protested—. "It's not just about strength. She is going to be infinitely more powerful in this world. If we tried to destroy her or confront her now, fate would collapse, and this world would destroy us as well. We have to think carefully."
—"Precisely because of that, we're not going to destroy her; we're going to satisfy her, Lesuya," —Luciano replied in his mind, his tone filled with experience—. "We have to live in the moment and go with the situation. Don't complicate your existence. You've only had one girlfriend in your previous life; stop worrying and let me handle love with my charisma. I mean, ours... I know exactly how to deal with this situation without everything falling apart."
—"All right... I'll leave that part to you," —Giotto conceded internally, letting out a sigh within himself.
The following morning, the two walked back toward Tenji's palace. Kaguya, experiencing earthly emotions for the first time in her millennia-long existence, walked closely beside Giotto, clinging to his arm. Her pale, deep eyes constantly sought him with a pure, enigmatic, and silent devotion. The young Vongola's presence had become her sole anchor in this new world.
As they crossed the porticos of the imperial residence, Kaguya's arrival immediately caused a commotion among the guards and court.
Tenji, who had been deploying trackers since the previous night, went out to meet Giotto, visibly worried.
—Giotto! You're finally back! I was very worried about you —the emperor exclaimed, taking a step forward—. Last night, we saw a blinding light illuminate the sky near the bamboo grove, and I sent my men to look for you, but we found nothing...
Tenji stopped dead in his tracks. His words died in his throat the exact moment his eyes fell upon the woman accompanying the Vongola. The sovereign was completely paralyzed, contemplating Kaguya's pristine and unreal beauty with his mouth slightly open.
However, much to the monarch's unspoken frustration, Kaguya paid him not the slightest attention. The woman did not even give him a proper glance; her entire universe continued revolving around Giotto as she tightened her grip on the young blond's sleeve.
Giotto gave an empathetic smile, although inside he felt a pang of discomfort under Tenji's gaze.
—We had a setback, Tenji. But I'm fine —Giotto said, breaking the silence—. Let me introduce you to Kaguya. I found her last night in the surrounding area.
Tenji reacted, blinking as he came out of his stunned state and clearing his throat.
—She is... extremely beautiful, your companion, Giotto —Tenji commented, trying to regain his imperial composure—. Where does she come from?
—She doesn't come from anywhere known —Giotto replied calmly—. She is a traveler.
—I understand... —Tenji said, fixing his eyes on Kaguya, although she simply tilted her head back toward Giotto with silent affection—. Well, she will now be my guest just like you, Giotto. She can stay at the palace for as long as necessary.
