Caius leaned quickly into the kiss. He stopped harnessing his mana and dropped that hand to Arlette's thigh which he squeezed. He aimed to be gentle but the Fourth circle strength coursing through his body was all so new so he gripped harder than he originally planned.
This ordinarily wasn't a problem because Arlette was at a higher magic circle so she could endure his strength. However, because he was still in a shifted state, Caius's claws were out and unlike his human nails, they would easily puncture Arlette's skin.
He had to hurry to gain restraint and hold off on his hand clenching before this happened. Already, the tips of his claws poked Arlette's skin, causing her to suck in a breath during their kiss while her blood spiked at what was so clearly excitement.
