Still, as tempted as she might be, Arlette still had enough of a firm grasp on her reality to know turning wasn't something she wanted. It had never particularly appealed to her. And as much as her mind was becoming more curious about Blood, that remained mostly the case.
Also, she was well aware of how feeding worked between two Vampires: It didn't.
Vampires can't feed on one another. Tasting each other's blood has none of the benefits and effects shared between a Vampire and their human/humanoid victim. And when Arlette's mind remembered just how it felt to feel Caius's fangs in her… the heady pleasure of knowing she was contributing to his growth— really, what could beat that.
Her grip on Caius's wrists tightened, seemingly unknown to her as she surged forward and dragged her tongue along his neck. The wound she had made in his neck had closed up so there was no blood to taste but it didn't really matter. The taste of him—freshly cleaned from the bath—was enough.
