Caius got to his feet, flexing his sore muscles and wincing ever so slightly at the aches all over his body, and only just barely listening to the conversation between Arlette and Alexia. He was mostly amused at how quickly they seemed to be getting along.
And then Alexia turned to him.
"You never did answer, Cousin," she said, "Can you keep going?"
"I could," Caius answered, "but I can't guarantee I'll do much better than I already have."
While he still had the card of Divine Energy to play, Caius had no real intentions of using it. After getting imbued with Nyx's backing during the battle against Belron, he was all too aware now of how weak Divine Energy was without a Godly backing. Sure it granted a boost, but enough to defeat Alexia? He didn't think so.
"Oh, you did great," Alexia said.
"The patches on my body say otherwise," Caius said with a little laugh.
