After centuries of embracing her vampirism, it was a real struggle for Roxanne to assume and maintain a human form. That struggle was not made easier by how much she felt herself losing control due to the intense sensations coursing through her at the moment.
But there were benefits to keeping her human form, of course.
For one, when she eventually dropped her hands from Caius's hair and onto his back, she didn't have to worry as much about injuring him, as she didn't have claws. She was able to really dig her human, and somewhat blunt, nails into his back, and the most Caius felt was pressure that made him grunt.
For another, when their lips eventually separated, and she began to move around to nip at his skin with her teeth, there were no fangs to pierce his skin. She could be much more reckless and bite down much harder since there was less of a chance of drawing blood.
