Chapter 90 - Evidence

After the group turned to the right, Matthew looked at Kevin and Jack. "It might be best if we fuse back together; just so they don't have to worry about trying to carry melted dough," he said.

The duo nodded as they touched Matthew's arms, fusing back into Doey. When the group turned to the left, they saw a decontamination room.

After the group entered the room, the door behind them closed before it started spraying liquid, and blue lights started moving up and down. After the liquid stopped spraying and the lights disappeared, the door opened, revealing a workshop.

As the group entered, they heard noises, which made Glowby make worried noises; Michelle looked up and spotted black and yellow panels. "Weird... I wonder what they do?" she asked.

Katelynn got on the stacked pallets and spotted a large red box before looking at Michelle. "Hey, Big Sister," she said. Michelle looked at Katelynn as she pointed at the large red box. "There's a large box in the way," she continued.

Michelle nodded. "Got it," she said before approaching the stacked pallets. When Michelle was close, Katelynn wrapped her arm around her before lifting her and moving her near the red box.

After Katelynn unwrapped her arm around Michelle and retracted it, she aimed the right arm at the large red box before the Pressure Hand shot from her wrist and touched it.

The pressure gauge went up until it was in the red; soon after, Michelle retracted the Pressure Hand, pushing the red box forward.

As Michelle walked forward, an alert sound from Glowby went off, which made her look at it before pressing the green button twice, turning the blacklight on.

As the others caught up, Michelle pointed the blacklight at the box with the numbers '120' on it and saw the number '95' with the blacklight. "Something tells me the numbers on these boxes play some sort of part," she said.

Michelle looked at the room above them. "We'll probably get our answer inside that room," she continued. Michelle looked at the hanging platform and aimed her left arm before the blue hand shot from her wrist and grabbed one of the handles.

Michelle looked at the broken catwalk and pulled the platform toward it; when it was close, she pulled herself. Yarnaby got near the red box and pushed it toward the broken catwalk while making guttural sounds.

When the box was under Michelle, she let go and landed on top of it; Yarnaby grabbed the box and stood on two feet with bright eyes, which made her pet his head. "Good boy," she said, which made him purr.

After Michelle stopped petting Yarnaby, she looked at the broken catwalk before leaping toward it and getting on.

After Michelle walked forward, Yarnaby got on the box before leaping onto the catwalk; after the others caught up, they walked forward and turned to the left.

When some of the group entered the room, they spotted a TV in the top left corner with a yellow VHS tape on top of a filing cabinet and a matching-colored VHS player on top of a small table. "What do we have here?" Michelle asked before approaching the filing cabinet.

Michelle picked the tape up and examined it before approaching the player and putting it inside. The group looked at the TV as it booted up; soon after, they saw a man's face with glasses on it near the camera. "Already just got— Oh, I'm on!" he shouted a bit.

When the man backed away and sat down, the group noticed the man had short, brown hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a yellow long-sleeved polo shirt with a Playtime Co. ID on a lanyard.

Soon after, the man looked at the camera. "Hello, Mr. Pierre! Um... look, I know you don't want to hear any more about this, I get it," he said. "Um, sounds like a bad joke. Huggy Wuggy staring at children. But... look, I'm filming this so... so I can hopefully prove what I saw."

Michelle stared at the TV. "Look, if some... if some creep is hiding Nanny cams in our mascot's eyeballs, then something needs to be taken seriously," the man continued.

The man cleared his throat. "Uh, something dangerous is going on and I... I'm sure it wasn't on purpose. I'm sure it was just some big mistake, but... I saw what I saw," he said.

The man looked away a bit. "And... and I... I'm positive about that," he continued before looking at the camera. "And, uh, I know if you could see it too, I think you'll understand." When the video ended, the tape came out of the player before Michelle pulled it out and examined it.

Mommy Long Legs slightly grinned at Huggy Wuggy. "Seems like someone saw you staring at the children; so much for being a security dog," she said before giggling behind her hand, which made him snarl at her.

Michelle stared at the tape before holding it out to Doey. "This could be beneficial to us too," she said; he nodded and grabbed it before it went inside him.

Michelle looked at the opening on the right before approaching it; when she entered, she saw a projector screen, a slightly tilted whiteboard, three cases, and a deactivated keypad with an empty battery socket.

Michelle spotted something inside the middle case before approaching it; when she was close, she saw a large paper file, which made her smile. "That has to be about the Negation Compound," she said.

Michelle spotted part of a yellow cuff behind the file. "There's something else inside too; I wonder what that is..." she said, lowly.

Michelle looked at the battery socket. "First things first, I need a battery," she continued before looking at the whiteboard. "I might as well figure out where the code might be, too."

Michelle approached the whiteboard and turned it; soon after, she saw the number '94' in red marker with the blacklight circling it and the letters 'SP' circled in the red marker next to it.

Michelle placed her hand against her chin. "The code is probably on one of those boxes with the blacklight numbers beside it," she said. "If we use the crate that had the number 95 on it as an example, the code would've been 120; I need to find the crate that has the number 94 on it."

After Michelle left the room, she looked at the group. "I need to examine the shelves; the code should be on one of the boxes on a shelf with the letters 'SP' on it," she said.

Mommy Long Legs turned her head to the shelves and spotted the shelf with 'SP' on the top near the stacked pallets. "I believe the shelf you're looking for is the same shelf you saw that other box," she said before laying her hand on the ground. "We can see what the other two boxes have."

Michelle nodded before getting on Mommy Long Legs's hand and holding one of her fingers before she got on the ground and approached the shelf.

When Mommy Long Legs lowered her hand to the second box with the number '788' on it, Michelle aimed the blacklight at the box; they saw the number '99' on it. "Not that one," she said.

Mommy Long Legs nodded as she raised the hand Michelle was on close to the box on the top shelf. When Michelle aimed at the box, she saw the number '94' on it. "This is it," she said. "What's the number on it?"

Mommy Long Legs looked at the box. "That would be 926, my little Misha," she said. Michelle nodded. "Alright, all we need to do now is find the battery for it," she said as Mommy Long Legs walked away.

Huggy Wuggy looked around and spotted two small boxes near a door before approaching it; when he was close, he spotted a battery before wrapping his arm around it.

When Mommy Long Legs was close to the broken catwalk, she lowered the hand Michelle was on to it, which made her get off. Michelle spotted Huggy Wuggy approaching her with a battery in his arm before kneeling and placing it on the ground. "Battery..." he said.

Michelle smiled and petted Huggy Wuggy's cheek. "Nice job, buddy," she said, which made him smile and purr a bit. After Michelle stopped petting Huggy Wuggy, she picked the battery up before approaching the room.

After Michelle entered the room with the whiteboard, she approached the battery socket before putting the battery inside, which activated the keypad.

Soon after, the projector activated, which made Michelle look at it; it showed Poppy's face and a ribcage before showing a chemical formula. This is all sorts of freaky... she thought before looking at the keypad.

Michelle approached the keypad before pressing the numbers in order, which opened the middle case. "Yes!" she shouted before approaching the middle case and grabbing the file. Doey and Katelynn entered as Michelle opened the file. "Did you find it, Big Sister?" she asked.

Michelle flipped a page inside and saw the same image from the projector. "Legacy subjects... 1006 and 1007..." she said. "1006 is the Prototype, and Poppy did mention that she was made after him, so that must make her 1007."

Doey and Katelynn approached Michelle as she turned the page. "A Restorative Gel Mixture; that must be the Poppy Gel... encouraging cellular regeneration and tissue growth," she continued before scoffing a bit. "He basically made a life elixir or something."

Katelynn squinted at the paper. "What does DMEM stand for?" she asked. Doey crossed his arms. "Dunno; probably something the scientists used," he said.

Michelle stared at the page. "Based on this page, DMEM could've been some kind of culture medium that supports the growth of cells," she said. "However, the gel surpasses this medium; that in itself is terrifying."

Michelle turned the page. "And they thought it was a great idea to take a crack at replicating it; that's probably what the Growth Medium is," she continued. "Though theirs had a lot of side effects, including hives and multisensory distortion."

As Michelle turned the page, she saw a microscopic image. "That would explain why they had to create the Negation Compound," Doey said.

Michelle nodded before turning the page. "To stop the Medium Growth from going out of control," she said. "Since the substrates of the Medium Growth and this gel are similar, the Negation Compound should work on it."

When Michelle turned the page, she examined it. "It seems like the only records that are still accessible are at a data center in the Labs," she continued before closing the file and holding it out to Doey. "We need to get this back to the others."

Doey nodded as he grabbed the file before it went inside him. Katelynn spotted two yellow metal cuffs inside the case before grabbing them and examining them. "What do these do?" she asked.

The duo looked at the cuffs. "Maybe they're supposed to go on the GrabPack's wrists," Doey said. Michelle looked at her arms. "Maybe..." she said before looking at the cuffs and spotting two small keys in each one. "They even have keys inside so they can lock in place."

Katelynn handed one of the cuffs to Doey, which made him take it, before placing her fingers between the key. When Katelynn turned the key to the left, the cuff unlocked before she pulled it open; soon after, Doey did the same thing with the other cuff.

Michelle pulled Glowby off her left arm before holding it out; Katelynn lined the cuff to her wrist before closing it. Soon after, Katelynn twisted the key, locking the cuff onto Michelle's wrist; after she pulled the key out of it, she placed Glowby back on her left arm.

The key Katelynn held went inside her. "Just in case..." she said; Michelle nodded before pulling her beaded bracelet back a bit and holding her right arm out. Doey placed the cuff on Michelle's wrist before closing it and twisting the key, which locked it in place.

After Doey pulled the key out of the cuff, Michelle moved her bracelet next to it. "And that should do it," he said as the key went inside him.

Michelle placed her hand against the right cuff. "The only question now is what these cuffs can do..." she said before they approached the opening.

After the group left the room and got on the catwalk, Michelle looked at the panels across from them before aiming her left arm at them. The blue hand shot from Michelle's wrist and touched one of the panels. "And if I try to pull the hand..." she said, lowly.

Soon after, Michelle pulled herself toward the panel, which shocked her and the toys, before she was close to it. Michelle looked at the catwalk while laughing a bit. "They magnetize my hands; that's awesome!" she shouted.

As the others caught up, Michelle thought of something before lowering the cable a bit and hanging upside down with her feet on the cable. "Hey, guess who I am?" she asked before making the thwip pose with her right hand.

Katelynn smiled and wagged her tail a bit. "You're like the female version of Spiderman; that's so cool!" she shouted, which made Michelle smile. Michelle turned herself right-side up before retracting the blue hand, which made her land on the ground.

Michelle turned her head to the right before spotting a door below them. "Hello, what are you?" she asked herself before dropping onto the top of the shelf.

After Michelle looked forward, she spotted a room before entering; she spotted a beige cassette tape before approaching it and picking it up.

After Michelle put the cassette tape in her left pocket, she left the room and looked at the top magnetic panel before aiming her left arm. The blue hand shot from Michelle's wrist and touched the panel before she pulled herself.

Michelle swung herself and let go of the blue hand before landing on the catwalk. "Did you find anything?" CatNap asked. Michelle pulled the cassette tape out of her pocket. "Just a cassette tape," she said before opening the white part of Glowby. "Time to see what's on it."

After Michelle put the cassette tape inside Glowby, she closed the white part before pressing the red button.

Soon after, the group heard a phone ringing before it went silent and heard a hum afterward. "Leith, I've been reviewing your concerns about our Head of Shipping," Eddie said.

The toys glared at Glowby. "He's becoming some sort of 'people's champion,'" Leith said. "Now too many noses are sniffing around. We deal with this now, we'll make him a martyr." Michelle glared at Glowby. "You dick..." she said, lowly.

"Not if we deal with it the right way," Eddie said; the group was shocked. "Oh?" Leith asked. "I think Mr. Lovitz is due for a promotion," Eddie said.

The group was confused. "You're serious?" Leith asked, confused. "Oh, he can't be the people's champion if he's one of us," Eddie said. "Up his pay; his title. New parking spot; give him a new car too. Let everyone think he sold his soul."

Michelle glared at Glowby. "And if it doesn't work?" Leith asked. "You worry too much; try focusing on the bigger picture," Eddie said. "Our friends in Tokyo are coming up to speed. At this rate, this factory won't even be our main focus in a few short years."

The toys menacingly growled. "And the park?" Leith asked. "Renovations are underway," Eddie said. "I'll be inspecting the premises next week: 7th to the 12th."

Michelle was shocked. "I trust you won't burn this place down in my absence," Eddie continued. The group heard Leith's laugh. "I'll do my best," he said. "Though I won't lie, this place is feeling more like a powder keg every day."

When the cassette tape stopped, and the white part opened, Michelle pulled it out and looked at it. "When did the Hour of Joy take place?" she asked. CatNap looked at Michelle. "That would be August 8th in 1995," he said.

Michelle clenched the tape a bit. "If this was recorded in August... that means that bastard Eddie is still alive," she said. "And they were trying to make Rich into one of them; I really hope he rejected it and quit on the spot."

After Michelle closed the white part of Glowby, she tossed the cassette tape onto the ground. "Any of you want to do the honors?" she asked.

The toys stared at the cassette tape until CatNap approached it. "I believe this is what everyone had in their minds," he said before stepping on it until they heard a crunch.

When CatNap moved his paw away, the cassette tape was in pieces. "I hope this pleases you, Angel," he continued.

Michelle nodded. "It does..." she said before looking at the group. "Now then, let's regroup with Giblet's group and give him that file." The toys nodded before they walked forward.
