The moment Aiden and Mahzara passed through the gate, the village unfolded before them.
Aiden glanced at her from the corner of his eye.
"I should warn you that my family can be rather lively."
Mahzara blinked.
"Your family?"
"Yes."
Aiden's grin widened.
"Once they find out I've brought home another wife, I'm not entirely certain what will happen."
Mahzara stopped walking for half a second.
"...Another wife?"
Aiden looked at her.
Then he laughed.
Mahzara immediately covered her mouth.
Her cheeks burned.
Aiden laughed harder.
"Relax, relax! I'm teasing you."
"Y-You can't just tease someone about something like that!"
"But you already knew I had other wives."
"I know! But you said it so casually!"
"Because it is casual."
Mahzara stared at him.
Then she buried her face against his shoulder.
"I can't deal with you..."
Aiden wrapped his arm around her again.
"Fortunately, you're not required to deal with me alone. You'll have plenty of help."
