The huge academy garden was alive with gentle afternoon light. Tall, flowering trees cast dappled shadows across winding stone paths, while colorful magical flowers bloomed in intricate patterns. Students walked by in small groups, chatting and laughing, but on a secluded wooden bench near a quiet fountain, the world felt smaller — just for two people.
Kee sat relaxed, one leg crossed over the other, staring up at the clear blue sky. His messy brown hair caught the sunlight, giving it warm golden highlights.
Mee sat beside him, close but not quite touching. There was a half-hand gap between them on the bench. Her delicate hand rested in that space, palm up, fingers slightly curled in quiet expectation.
"The sky looks beautiful today, isn't it?" Kee said softly, still gazing upward.
"H-huh?" Mee stuttered, caught off guard. She quickly nodded. "Y-yes… it really does. So clear and bright."
