Then he grinned.
It wasn't the soft, amused grin of earlier.

He didn't ask for permission. He didn't need to. His hands slid to Ely's waist and gripped tight. Tight enough that she gasped. And when his hips started to move again, meeting her pace, matching her desperate rhythm with a force of his own, her voice cracked into a high, startled moan.
"Fine," he said, eyes gleaming with something dark. "Let's play."
