Chapter 83 - Gigant Suplex

This was beyond expectations!

The Ogni of the Gobzkin in Brighthaven had seen many things from the bald apes: desperation, weakness, submission, degradation, and betrayal, but never cruelty that rivaled that of the Gobzkin.

He had ravaged this place for almost four moons, yet every time he marched with his slaves against a human fortress, every time he ordered the Gigant to fling some corpses at the bald apes, they would always crumble from within, turn on each other, and start running in different directions, becoming easier prey.

The domination of this race was one of the favorite sports for Prince Skad, but then, he looked down beneath his feet and saw that those humans had ruined everything for him.

All his slaves and a number of his Gobs and Hobgobs were mowed down in the span of half a minute. The humans used their pitiful ranged weapons and unleashed a barrage of red death that consumed everything in its wake, something he didn't anticipate at this point in the attack. Usually, humans would resort to gunning down their own as the last option, and would try everything to save or spare them first; their inherent weakness, which happened to be just the same as that of the Alfari.

Even the human slave gladiators in his encampment no longer operated in such a manner. The humans on the loose were presumed to be feeble and craven, armed with useless weaponry barely capable of felling Gobs, yet this day had disproven that assumption. Now, with every slave, even his favored companions, shredded by these pathetic arms, his only recourse to salvage his dignity lay with his elite troops, his Gorks and Grolls, not to mention the colossal Goer.

He had the twenty Gorks to the front, their bodies resistant to anything the humans could unleash; not a bullet or red bolt would make them flinch. Behind them were the Grolls, the Hobgobs, and the endless tide of Gobs; most were armed with melee weapons, but they too had ranged weapons, some of which were those used by the bald apes.

The Prince could also see the Alfari spearmen, the only thing that could threaten his melee dominance if they weren't flanked from the start and were allowed to face the charge of his Gorks. Years of experience have taught him never to face an Alfari shield wall head-on, and to bide his time. Thus, he needed the Grolls to do the flanking; fast and agile as they were, they wouldn't do much against the…

BZZZ-CRACK!

While the Prince's thought process was focused on strategizing for the attack, relaying orders through the Shamans who stood beneath the platform, a red bolt found its way from the top of the human fort to his face with astonishing accuracy, almost giving him no time to react.

Yet even with such a lethal shot from Sharp heading his way, the Gobzkin Prince barely moved and remained standing, defiant of anything that might threaten his dominant pose. He took the bolt head on and barely winced.

However, as the smoke that rose from the spot he was in blew off with the wind, the Prince stood still like it was nothing, but an inconvenience, as he shrugged off the shot with the back of his hand, grimacing fiercely at the shooter.

He then turned and grabbed one of the crude sticks that were decorating his wheeled platform, revealing it to be a short spear stuck to the wood: a javelin. Turning back, he violently moved his shoulder, bulging all his muscles, and hurled the javelin in one motion towards Sharp.

The air yielded with a crack to his ferocious swing, resisting the alien and supernatural might of the Ogni's blow, as his feet shattered part of the platform beneath him when he landed his other foot after the throw. The javelin flew in a beam, breaking the air with relative ease. Sharp's eyes widened, and he knew he wouldn't be able to move faster than the incoming killing blow.

His best option was to squeeze the trigger once again, aim at the point where he knew he could hit the javelin, as this was the fastest action he could do, faster even than ducking.

But neither of the two shooters noticed the pillar of earth that rose from below, as Adam sensed Sharp's alertness and immediately raised the arm of the Golem as a barrier and a cover. Perhaps not as fast, but it arrived right on time to get grazed by the javelin and alter its trajectory.

Most of the Golem's hand was gone, as if it had been hit by the javelin with a thundering clash, displaying the full might of the Ogni, who watched the sight of the Golem rising up, sneering at how desperate the humans were to raise such a flimsy construct of nothing but earth.

Fine! If the bald apes wanted to do it that way, if they thought their Alfari allies and their stupid earth giant could do anything, he'd be happy to prove them wrong himself.

He returned again to the spiky decorative mess behind him and picked not a javelin this time, for it wouldn't be satisfying for him at all, but the weapon he was most familiar with, a long stick of Alfa wood studded with sharp metal rings, taken from the dead hands of an Alfari Rootmender and modified personally by the Gobzkin Prince himself, a weapon bathed in the blood of many Alfari.

Bashing the shield wall with that kind of weapon would break them more than the sight of the naked Alfari woman strapped to the Goer; it would break their spirits a hundred times over, seeing an object of worship swinging against them in the hands of an enemy.

"Gaaaaa!"

The Gobzkin Shamans beneath the platform shouted, signaling that all the forces that were besieging the human fort had now converged on this point, bolstering the numbers of the Gobzkin army to 500. All attacked from behind the twenty Gorks, a force the Prince was proud to amass, and it was time to root out the humans of this part of his domain.

Adam's golem rose again, standing as tall as the encroaching green tide advanced in droves. His psyche was struggling to cope with the fact that he had just given the command to murder tens, if not over a hundred, innocents, but behind him stood 200 more, and he had to make the sacrifice count.

He stepped out from his golem, onto the back of its head, and faced the factory, looking for Buzz.

As he saw his radio operator blasting from the rooftop at the Gorks, he drew his attention with a wave and made a circular hand signal, followed by a fist hitting his left palm; a signal to gather everyone in this place.

Buzz immediately called for the order, as all Gobzkin activity seemed to be concentrated on the eastern gate, since it was natural to gather the majority of their forces to confront the enemy's largest contingent.

On the other side, the Gobzkin horde had crossed halfway to the eastern gate, and the blazers and bullets started dropping the Gobs that could be shot from the gaps between the twenty brutes, yet it seemed the horde wasn't slow, especially with the Gigant taking large strides to lead the attack. Adam watched this as he got back to the head of the Golem and started calculating his options.

His troops' ranged prowess was decent, but the enemy pushed the tanker units ahead to absorb the shock, and as soon as they reached the Alfari defensive line with this momentum, Adam doubted that even the Alfari would last.

On the other side, the Serai of Lord Kaimu started hovering at a higher elevation, and its shots were making most of the damage then, but they weren't as rapid or powerful as the blazers. The Mortar gun was being operated by Kave and Megan, who were following Buzz's instructions, but they still hadn't fired anything at the horde. Lastly, Lord Kaimu was still on standby, ready to intervene when the time was right in order to take on the Gobzkin Prince.

At that moment, Adam's Golem was the only thing that wasn't engaging, but he was saving his strength for the incoming Gobzkin Gigant, and the Golem was the only thing in its weight class.

Still, Adam had a stroke of genius, and he was going to give the Gobzkin a taste of their own poison.

With a violent movement, the hands of Adam's golem reached for the ground below as it leaned forward, before fusing with the earth. As it stood back up with obvious difficulty, it appeared to be carrying in its hand a larger chunk of the ground.

WOOOOOOOO!

The air moved violently as the towering figure started moving in reckless motions. Adam mustered all the power he could give to the golem and swayed its body to one side before taking a sharp rotation around its axis with the earthen chunk still stuck to it.

Adam then released his hold and let it go.

With a large shadow and a booming sound, the large chunk started to fly and disintegrate midair, slowly transforming into large bits of debris and stone, before landing past the Gigant and the Brutes' line with a thundering quake.

THOOOOOMP!

≪ You have gained 2 EXP! ≫

The land shook, and everyone inside the shelter felt the tremor of the Golem's movement and its attack. While it had made a hole in the center of the Gobzkins, all its victims were Gobs and Hobgobs, albeit the kill itself granted Adam a lot of experience for its creativity.

Still, this attack only made the Gobzkins more agitated, as they didn't like being on the receiving end of bombardment, and the Goer started running forward, raising a giant club as it went for the Alfari shield wall.

Uncertain if his crude golem puppet could handle the mass of flesh and bones that was the Gigant, Adam, with a heavy heart, spent his accumulated 8 EXP—including what he'd gained from the human slaves and previous points—to raise his Spirit stat to 7.

This choice alone was enough to make him feel a new surge of power within his soul, directly reflecting on his Runic Magic and charging him with newfound power. Adam could even feel the power of his golem becoming denser as it came right under his direct control.

The Gobzkin Gigant was then three steps away from the shield wall, and it raised a crude club above its head, aiming to smite the Alfari warriors down, yet all they did was shine their light even brighter and raise their shields, bracing for impact.

"Why don't you pick on someone your own size?"

And right at that moment, a giant walked out to face another giant. One wielding a club that could flatten buildings, the other with arms formed into large spikes.

But right before it swung, the Gobzkin Gigant had a vicious grin forming on its hideous face as it saw the Golem approaching, and it anticipated this development.

Now, rather than the Alfari shield wall, it was going to be the Golem that got all the beating. However, Adam looked through the gaps of his Golem's head and knew exactly that this was going to happen.

"No matter what world, bullies always think it is a game of size." He gritted his teeth and immediately activated his Bending Rune.

The Golem's head, Adam's fortified abode, leaned forward, and from its gaps, air burst out, carrying all manner of dirt and earth with it, directed right towards the face of the Gigant.

Unable to anticipate this tactic, the Gobzkin Gigant was stunned as dirt entered its eyes and it averted its face, yet still swung the club wildly. Adam didn't need to analyze any more movement from the Gigant and moved past its swing with his Golem, now standing right behind it, and turned to face it before it could react.

The golem leaned against the Gigant's back, its spike arms stabbed it from the sides, and started to hold on to it tightly.

"GRAAAAAH!"

The Gigant was immediately agitated by the actions of the Golem, and tried to swing its elbow at the Golem's head, yet the Golem barely reacted, as its head was nothing more than a decorative part for Adam to stay in, Adam, who was no longer in the head.

Still, the Earth Golem moved with unrelenting power, while Adam channeled all his mental power to the joints of the golem, draining him quickly. Yet, with all the power in place, Adam activated the move.

The Golem clung even tighter to the Gigant; its right leg swept past the Gigant's right leg awkwardly, causing the latter to lose balance, and with a pull, the Golem lifted the Gigant with impossible strength yet flawless execution, even as visible cracks formed rapidly on its earthen body. Adam immediately activated the second move and twisted the whole Golem backwards with the Gigant it was carrying.

Behind the Golem and the Gigant, the Gobzkin horde watched, its vanguard composed of 20 Brutes. Covering them was the shadow of two giants, descending fast, causing the air pressure to shift and the temperature to drop.

BOOOOM!

Tons of earth and flesh descended together, and the Gobzkin vanguard of Brutes were almost crushed under the might of a Golem's Thundering Suplex.
